hope it wasn't sold to her by the travel agent

No lol, ours was too expensive she said, the nice cheap one she got elsewhere has now cost her an extra £750 oops. Think the saying you get what you pay for is sometimes true.
Unfortunately thats the second person thats lost their money or holiday due to insufficient cover in a couple of weeks, the other one their dad died and the insurance didn't cover that. I'm not saying they must buy ours but people should check what they're actually covered for and when from.

I dont understand why her insurance only covers her from the day before she travels, surely if you have cancellation cover the whole point is it covers cancellation for specific reasons from the date it is purchased until the day you travel.
    Who is her insurance with?
    £100 - £10,000

Don't know who the insurance is with as we've only been dealing with the lead passenger, but it obviously doesn't cover cancellation. But even if it did the lead passenger wasn't going to cancel her off anyway to get her a canx letter to claim on the insurance because the lead pass would have to canx as well because the room slept 2 and there were no single rooms left, this issue has certainly opened my eyes to its best to be the lead passenger on a booking.

Ah right I see. I thought you meant the the 'reason for cancellation' had to of happened the day before or the cancellation cover would not pay out. I was just wondering which company this was so I could avoid it!
    £100 - £10,000

Hi can you clarify your post a little. Do you mean you booked a flexible trips package in a Thomas Cook shop, if this is the case you only get the benefits that are listed in the TC brochure if you book a TC package with the codes out of the brochure. If you book a flexible trips package you don't get the free Siam park tickets, nor the services of a TC rep.
