Dreams beds, a complete NIGHTMARE

I will give you the short version.

I purchased a TV bed from Dreams back in April.... one of the biggest mistakes of my life was walking into that store. Saw the bed on display, lovely.

Purchased it, with a reasonable delivery time of about 2 weeks.

Day prior to delivery, after disposing of old bed and sleeping on a mattress on the floor, they cancel. It will be one more week. Ok ok, so one more week, we can handle it.

Following week, the bed was delivered, however a few days later we noticed the faux leather was flaking away.

9th May I wrote to Dreams and stated that the bed was flaking, they agreed to send an "independant" assessor around, who was there for 2 minutes. Dreams then agreed to replace the entire bed as they had several complaints about this happening.

The new bed would be delivered and replaced on 30th June. On 29th June they cancelled, they dont have any in stock and it wont be able to be delivered until 21st July.

So today, 20th July, I get a call to say that they wont be delivering tomorrow as my bed in their warehouse has mold all over it!! A replacement will now be delivered on 28th July (3 months since delivery of the original one).

Now it doesnt fill me with much hope that the one I have is flaking and the new replacement was able to gain mold whilst in their warehouse - how long was it therefore? Not long as 3 weeks prior they didnt have any in stock so had to cancel.

I rang their customer services, didnt seem interested at all, they said I can ring back when its delivered and discuss compensation.

I have just followed up conversation with a letter (and copied in Barclays Finance who I have the finance for the bed through) and stated that if it isnt delivered on Sat 28th July in satisfactory condition with suitable compensation offered then I will be either wanting to keep the one I have with a huge credit offered against finance or they collect it and we forget the whole thing and cancel the sale and finance.

I have written this to a) warn you guys to avoid them like the plague and b) hope they have a customer service rep on here who may reply and deal with this asap!!

You have been warned, and I am sure this wont be resolved any time soon.

    I have heard horror stories about Dreams before, going back years. At least if more of these are made public, it will affect sales and force them to take action. Or go bankrupt.
    I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

    THEY MADE MY 78 YEAR OLD FATHER SLEEP IN A CHAIR FOR 5 DAYS AFTER SENDING THE WRONG SIZE BASE OF BED FOR THE MATTERS IT TOOK FIVE DAYS TO GET NEW ONE AND NOT EVEN A SORRY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY SHOULD BE MADE TO GO OUT OF BUSSINESS . AS IT SOUNDS THEY CANT GET ANY THING RIGHT:j:j:jPS HEAD OFFICE DONT EVEN GET IN TOUCH BAD PLACE TO BUY YOUR BED FROM NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY GET ANY MONEY FROM MYSELF OR FAMILY

    Hello dantheman2010,

    I suggest you cancel your order with Dreams and take your business to a more reputable retailer. Let Dreams deal with the logistics of recovering your old bed while you receive your new bed from a different company.
  • With so many posts above,we sure can tell if we want to purchase the Dreams.

    If you still want to buy its stuff,you have to keep your old one as a back-up.

    Why did he just not sleep on the mattress?

    I find these kind of remarks shocking. Why would anybody want to see thousands of people out of work over what seems to be an error
