No. They simply lost their AOS membership. They continue to operate and despite their registered office being at some London mail drop they are based in the former Wessex Construction depot on the corner of Eastern Road and New Lane, Havant. Also based there is the recovery company (A1 Recovery Ltd) linked with the vehicle removals they carried out in the past as avid clampers. One wonders how this company will continue to make money come October and the outlawing of clamping on private land, although there is a large workshop at the New Lane address and the recovery business does carry out genuine recoveries? They may have something legitimate to be getting on with.

The owner of Shoal, Michael Eames, used to run a garage in Petersfield years ago and just happens to be a director of A1 Recovery Ltd - of course. That business (the old business in Petersfield) went pop and so he branched out into selling ornamental and tropical fish under the business name of Koi & Co. That too went through the hoop and he re-appeared in 2007 as Shoal. Inspection of the logo will reveal that it is a reference back to the days of his fish business.

There is another A1 company that Mr Eames runs - A1 Parking Management Limited. In the injunction litigation brought against Shoal Enforcement Limited by Ino (Pepipoo thread is here) Mr Eames filed a witness statement saying
"I am the managing director of Shoal Enforcement Limited and A1 Parking Management Limited. The former company is the First Defendant in these proceedings but the latter company should be the correct First Defendant in the circumstances of this case as it was the contractor with the management company of Cumberland Business Centre, for parking management at that site . . . The registered office of both companies is 81 Oxford Street, London W1D 3EU . . ."

I assume that the signage displayed at the Cumberland Business Centre must have referred to Shoal - or else Ino wouldn't have thought that she'd been clamped and towed by them.

Edited for more info. I did park inappropriately because the small amount of workers in these businesses use this private carpark rightfully (they display exemption tickets) and I was not. That's why I am thinking I can fight this?
You can fight this (sounds like ignoring it is the best way to fight it).

If you feel that you were morally in the wrong then you could...
    * leave a tip next time you are in the sandwich shop
    * take a box of chocolates for the workers who you inconvenienced
    * make a donation to a charity of your choice

But don't go handing over money to this organisation who clearly have no morals at all...

Isn't the above a breach of the road traffic act or some such, taking a hand off the wheel to make a rude sign at someone? If you had their registration number you could report them to the police :D

Making rude gestures at someone - even while not driving - might well be an offence under s4A of he Public Order Act 1986

    http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1986/64/section/4A

Abusive or insulting behaviour (as well as words) is caught by the Act.

Not that I can really see the police being bothered to investigate over a V sign or a w@nker gesture . . . .
