........... and there will be no withholding of anything from the uni

You're on your own on that one, but the op has advice from the cag website I've linked to. It's easy to set up others, when it's not you facing the problem.

Can you tell me how the contract has been formed ? Did the OP sign specific documents in regards to parking ? It is argued that the terms and conditions are unfair contract, and the fee allegedly owed a penalty. The loss is the only thing that can be claimed, the uni will have an awful lot to explain how they lost £60 in 10 minutes.
I signed the permit application form, where I "agree[d] to abide by the University parking regulations...".

My argument isn't that the regulations are unfair per se, but that their enforcement is. If they were unfair, then it could be argued that I should have flagged it up before signing the form.

    Yes .

Having permit is not proof of accepting terms, there needs to be something in writing specially saying that you accept a charge of that amount. And as there is no time limit on getting it paid the terms are ambiguous .

The standard advice of ignore utterly stands
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Only for you I'm afraid. I fail to see where you're coming from.
Or are you not reading what the op is posting?
Or do you have no knowledge at all of university parking?
If you don't, why are you posting?

Because the terms of parking are going to be the same as elsewhere, basically an unfair contract term. If these terms were so fair there would be more court cases. If this uni has a law department I suggest that the OP speaks to one of the lecturers;.

The advice stands ignore everything in the absence of a court claim.

    Your advice stands.
    cag disagree.
Still, the op has both sides, and can decide on all the advice given. I hope it's a good result.

Thing is I have faced similar things with parking with a permit, I forgot to display mine in a fully livered vehicle of the company I used to work for, I got an invoice in their car park. I ignored it, and got the leasing company to write to the scammers saying that I was the driver.

So very often the CAG advice is the same as here and Pepipoo, if they disagree that is up to them, but there far more success stories on here than there in regards to this.

  • Ignore CAG, the mods are owned by the PPC's
Ignore CAB, they are owned by the government who funds BPA anf therfore have to peddle the BPA propaganda

Read here, weve told hundreds of peopel to ignore, and saved them thousands of pounds.

The PPC has 49 chances in 1,800,000 of them ever getting any money out of you, we know this from FOI requests made to the courts.

I probably wouldn't give a monkeys if I parked a company van somewhere either. If fact, I wouldn't give a monkies if it was my own car, but at my age it won't change my pension.
Op has a possible life changing monent to consider though, if his degree is withheld, over a contact he has personally signed. That's why I won't advise he should ignore it. I'm not a heavy gambler. (well, I am, but only with me, not with others)

I get a text message confirmation when I pay, which I've not deleted. <snip>

If you can back that text up to a PC, do so, just in case. "Eggs in one basket" and "Plan B", etc. :)

PS. Or forward it to someone else?
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
