Olympic Coke Glasses

The Coke Glasses promotion returns to McDonald’s for the seventh successive year, this time with an Olympic twist. As a proud sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics, we’re giving our customers the opportunity to own their very own commemorative Coke Glass and Wristband to help celebrate this truly unique event.

There are six commemorative limited edition glasses, each with a different coloured removable wristband which fits around the base of the glass.

One glass will be given out free with every Large Meal or Premium Salad throughout the campaign window.

*This year there is no Coke Zone element to the promotion.*

You can purchase a glass separately for £1.49.





Official MoneySavingExpert insert: McDonalds has confirmed that one commemorative Coke glass and wristband will be given out with every Large Meal or Premium Salad throughout the campaign window (Wed 25 Jul - Tue 14 Aug 2012) in restaurants nationwide (excluding the Olympic Park).

Two colours will be available in the first week, two in the second and two in the third, though all are subject to availability. The glasses and wristbands are available to buy separately for £1.50 each. Thanks to thatguy1 for posting.

I've had a couple of glasses from McDonalds in the past and they were made of really thin glass, both broke far too easily. Hope these are better quality this time.

You will be able to buy the glasses on their own for £1.49 each.

I've had these glasses over the years and have only ever had a couple of them break.

I got a fair few from the last promo and most have broke. I didnt drop them or anything, they just fell over in the sink or knocked them on the sink taps . I agree they seemed to be of a thinner glass last time.

I think the glasses they give out are dangerous and I will not use them after cutting open the side of my hand on one.

I was washing it up and put the cloth inside to clean it out and as I twisted my hand round it cracked in half and dug right into my hand. It has actually made me weary of ever doing that to any glass again although I am probably being paranoid.

We had one fall from the cupboard to the worktop. It shattered into the tiniest splinters which, despite using a dustpan and brush, hoovering twice and washing the floor, still managed to stick in my foot and had to be removed with tweezers. Mr shoe ended up with a piece in his toe and we even found some on the stairs as it literally exploded it was so thin. We would never get one again - I've never seen a glass break like this.

I urge all clumsy people and especially clumsy people with kids not to buy them. Even people who are pretty careful should think twice. A quick google will show lots of people cutting themselves when washing these glasses and a lady who was finding shards of glass months after breaking one. I can't imagine McD have listened to people and made them thicker or better quality somehow.

That happened to me with a regular glass (while in labour actually), it put me off drying them like that for ages!

I can't stand Cola or McD's or dangerous glassware, but thanks OP for posting anyway

I'm prob going to get shot to down this but what do you expect, ITS GLASS. Its hardly going to do a few bounces around the kitchen when you drop it.

What do you want for free. I've had loads of the glasses and yeah some have broke but oh well, it was a free glas from mcdonlads. I'm hardly going to loose sleep over it.

Sorry for the rant but everyone seems to be so negative all the time and its not needed!

BRILLIANT!! People complaining glass that breaks when dropped or knocked!!

Mine are fine, fill them up, drink out of them, wash them up, let them dry then use again..... Quite easy!!

Maybe next time, just buy the meal and don't take the glass?
