Bondy lad- if this is true then these people are despicable . Shame on the DVLA too.

By the way the number of the person who called me is available from me in case anyone else gets similar calls.
  • Have parking eye ever taken someone to court even though they may have lost cases?

A friend has just told me this happens more than we know although I'm inclined to continue ignoring the letters.

Here is one where they were taken to court

Parking Eye does not do court, when they do they get a bloody nose. Your friend is wrong its that simple, out of 1.8m tickets issued last year 49 went to court, 24 default judgements were issued where people didn't turn up, the rest were won with a defence. You have a 72,000-1 shot of going and losing a case.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Thank you.. I shall continue to ignore all letters and calls. I'll keep everyone posted on the situation.

By the way I'm grateful for all the advice. Signing up to this forum was a good decision! When the PCN first arrived I almost paid it out of fear of being prosecuted but thanks to you guys I'm relieved I haven't.

I may need more reassurance when I start getting Solicitors letters..

The above case was back in 2010. The latest PE court case I know of it this one, where they sent no less than 4 solicitors. However, you know what they say about too many cooks.

Parking Eye vs. Smith, Manchester, 2011, 1XJ81016. The judge ruled that the PPC’s demands were unreasonable, were therefore an unlawful contractual penalty and found in favour of the driver. However, as they were unpaid, she awarded the PPC the parking charges of £15.00, not the £260.00 claimed penalty. She also awarded costs of just £95.00, not their claimed £4,457.20.

  • I also found another one where it claims the 'defendant ' apparently list his case.
I found another one with sketchy details.. Apparently the case went in favour of parking eye..

CASE 7 - PARKINGEYE LIMITED v MR MOAZEEM HOSSAIN
Clerkenwell & Shoreditch County Court 22nd November 2011 claim number 1XJ81956

Yes I told you that out of 1.8m tickets there was 24 successful default claims for the entire year. This is obviously one of them. The information by the way was provided by a FOI to the courts in regards to BPA members issuing claims in court, so its an accurate verifiable fact.

  • Interesting re the above link but now I feel more anxious!
It's reassuring that most of the posts advise to ignore the PCN..

I believe that this was his intention.

    Keep that thought.
