Yep thats exactly what I did when I first spotted it, I had a bundle of notes inside a book that a relative had left me.
Do a google on this subculture and there's a few informative sites.... But like I said to Moglex I really am at a loss to understand this area of collecting they all look exactly the same it's just the digits in the corner people are concerned with. Proper Nuts

But you do get that with stamps as well.

I collect what is (rather pompously) refered to as 'miniscule art'. I collect the stamps because I like their designs as tiny works of art.

Other people collect for quite different reasons. They'll collect a tiny variety of stamp designs, but try and get all the different perforation types, or all the different watermark types, or the same stamp postmarked by every sorting office in the country.

And as for errors! Whereas most people would think they should just be spoilage, with stamps it can turn a 10p stamp into something worth hundreds.

But then each to their own. It'll make no difference in 100 years time when we're all pushing up the daisies.

Even if you have 10 penny blacks, a couple of Bacon's you found on a skip and a pair of Miss Moss's Knickers in your arms when they bury you?
