Hiya! Another one for the single no kids MFW! I sometimes think it is harder on my own but actually I'm feeling pretty fortunate that if I decide to scrimp and save every single penny and go without to make a mortgage overpayment it is my decision and my decision alone. My ex was a terrible one for temptation which is probably why when we were together our mortgage didn't go down!!0

How is everyone doing?
Feeling a bit low at the moment. Being single, trying to be frugal, not being at the Olympics is getting to me a bit.
I have paid quite a bit off but might have to force myself to try and take it a bit slower.
Just feel that people in a relationship now have a nice houses and I'm still stuck in a small flat even though I have a good job etc.Mortgage: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £91830 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] Jan 12 - £89'199[/STRIKE] May 14 - £69'999 Car Loan: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £3658 [/STRIKE] July 12 - £0! Sometimes I feel like a single MFW since MrMRN is on-board so long as it doesn't take any of his time or effort! All the research for better deals, meal planning, DIY, making lunches to take to work, batch cooking, managing reward scheme points for days out, supplier switching, online surveys, mystery shopping etc. is my doing. He doesn't actively go out to ruin my hard work but with a little effort from him aswell, we could OP more.
Big ups to the single MFWs!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Spent a weekend with a pal who is seriously not MFW material. No savings, no pension and a 90% mortgage (at 45) - and there's two of them. Off on holiday though.........all on the card........
Look on the bright side - no matter how far you have to go - each wee bit repaid is a step forward.May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!
March 2019 - CC gone and bye bye M2 on 31st! £140k to go.:j0 -
Hey everyone!
Very very inspiring stories on here and thought I would post after lurking for a while!
I am a single MFW but trying to balance this with being able to have a social life. I was in a long term relationship for 11 years until last year when my ex partner left. I have now just finished finalising our separation and I have bought him out of our house and taken on the remaining mortgage on my own - its just over £52k but find the responsibility of paying that on my own very daunting!!
I also work for local government and job security is not particularly good at the moment so I have decided to overpay into a separate account which will go towards the mortgage but may have to be used if I don't survive a restructure within the next 6 months!
Good luck everyone! Xgo to the graze website and enter this code: 4LKM1R3B to get your first graze box free and the second half price!!0 -

Well if you really want tickets it's possible to get them! Each evening they release more tickets. Tonight there were over 27 pages of them up for grabs, mostly £10 each. It's just a case of pressing the refresh button (over and over and over again lol)Mortgage Free aged 31 :j Thanks, Martin and MSE! :money:0 -
I was due to have a estate agent come round tomorrow to put my flat on the market but I have pulled out.
I'm to nervous to sell this place and buy another with a much larger mortgage at the moment as the cost is so much to move and I dont think I have enough equity in this place at the moment or a good enough deposit so won't get a good wait.
I figured in a years time house prices are not really moving, my pay may go up and I will have saved up another 6k+
I kind of like it here just would be nice to have more space and be able to rent a room out for a house mate.Mortgage: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £91830 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] Jan 12 - £89'199[/STRIKE] May 14 - £69'999 Car Loan: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £3658 [/STRIKE] July 12 - £0!
