Sorry for the bump but I found this thread in my bookmarks so thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing?
Still single and still in the same place so at least I'm consistent...[STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card

Hi Danni. Well, it's been a while since I last posted and I am no longer single. My partner has been staying with me since the start of lockdown and things are going well on that front. Mortgage wise, I am down to about £58,500 from a starting balance of £115,000 in November 2011. I am still focusing savings on my LISA and pension for now so am paying the contractual mortgage payment only. Due to some previous lump sum overpayments, I think that is still around a £40 per month overpayment on what the contractual payment would be if it were recalculated now. My rate fix ends Jan 2023 and I plan to reassess my strategy then - things may be different by then, for example if my partner and I wanted to move and buy a home together. Only time will tell I suppose!0

Congratulations on the promotion up from singleton! And well done on smashing through the mortgage!
As someone who's been here for a while, when did things become so quiet? I remember struggling to keep up with threads and questions because they just got so busy but now over on DFW the posts are really quiet.
I like the fact I still recongise some of the names after a few years out![STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card

Hi everyone, I'll join in if I may. Not quite sure if I class as a singleton because I'm actually a widow. My kids are all grown up. And I'm retired.Took out a mortgage of £45,000 in October 2018 And started overpaying earlier this year. It's now down to £41,653. Trying to manage an overpayment of £200 a month. It is tough doing it alone but I am happy enough living a fairly simple lifestyle.I am still busy with renovations but hopefully I would really like to start a little sideline business of some sort, just to give me a bit more leeway. I would rather do that than take in a lodger.I am aiming to try and get the mortgage down to sub £40k by the end of the year. Ideally I would like to be mortgage free in 5 years but it's a big ask.0
