Hardly matters. I use mobile to talk and send text. I hate browsing internet on such tiny screen (I get headache within 10 minutes if I try to do so ;))

iPhone is too pricey and I don't use apps. Android phones crash often.
Blackberry is too corporate. Never used Windows mobile but I don't want Windows in my phone (having Windows in PC is enough).

That leaves me with Symbian. Old technology, good battery life and still officially a smartphone. So, I use Symbian phone :)
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

What are you basing that on?
I shouldn't really read allaboutsymbian - isn't it now allaboutPureView? No other reason for that site's existence.

Nokia's sales figures and operating losses for one; unless people start buying their phones in much larger numbers (for some reason) they'll be finished, sold off, very soon.

From 29% marketshare to 6% in a year and a half..has to be some kind of record. Their dumphones also have lost share in a growing market.

I had a Lumia 710 and it was garbage compared to Android. If you like the obsolete Lumia line, then fair play to you.

But don't take my word for it: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Nokia-confirms-330k-Lumia-sales-in-the-US-vindicates-comScore-and-Nielsen-numbers_id32451

  • Android, why because it was 50% cheaper per month than iphone and does the same if not more.

That may well be true, but did you read their analysis of Nokia's figures?
Nokia's sales figures and operating losses for one; unless people start buying their phones in much larger numbers (for some reason) they'll be finished, sold off, very soon.
They've paid out £742 million in dividends in the last quarter which is a massive chunk of the loss for the quarter. From the link:
The headline loss of €826 million is a big number, but a significant component of it is a write down in value as a result of restructuring costs. This can be seen more clearly in Nokia's non-IFRS figures. Nokia's Non-IFRS operating loss was €327 million, with Devices and Services non-IFRS loss at €365 million, and margins at -9.1%. Non-IFRS results exclude special items for all periods and can be seen as measures of underlying performance. In Q2 2012 the non-IFRS results exclude €499 million of charges, related to restructuring charges and intangible asset amortization. Similar charges are likely in Q3 and Q4 2012 as a result of recently announced cost cutting and job losses.
From 29% marketshare to 6% in a year and a half..has to be some kind of record. Their dumphones also have lost share in a growing market.
The 'dumbphone' market's shrinking is it not? Nokia have managed to increase their sales here, from that link again:
In Q2 Mobile Phone volumes were 73.5 million, up 2% from 71.8 million in Q2 2011, and up 4% from 70.8 million in Q1 2012. The results indicated that, thanks to the successful roll out of its Asha range and dual SIM devices, Nokia has been able to successfully defend its position in the mobile phone space, with the increased device volumes an impressive performance in the context of a shrinking overall market (as more feature phone owners switch to smartphones).
I had a Lumia 710 and it was garbage compared to Android. If you like the obsolete Lumia line, then fair play to you.
You don't like the 710, fair enough, no one said you had to like it. Where have I said or given the impression that I like the Lumia line?
Lumia sales in the US aren't good enough admittedly. I would argue that's to do with convincing people that there can be an alternative to the established iOS/Android order, which is a difficult thing to do. Nokia hasn't had a significant US presence for a long time either, so I don't think it's fair to expect them to set the US market alight with 2 phones.
Are you basing your whole 'Nokia is dying' argument on what's written in the Daily Mail and on some internet forum?

I'll post the link again in case you change your mind and decide to read it - http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/15303_Nokia_Q2_2012_continued_losses.php

Don't know where you got the Daily Mail from; that is for tory idiots ;)

Allaboutsymbian is for Nokia idiots - not worth reading either.

Whatever your opinion, have a read of the link, just for some balance if nothing else. You will see why Nokia isn't dying.

It will be a replacement to my now dated HTC, not decided which yet except to say it will still be an Android phone.

My next phone will most likely be a (Symbian) Nokia 808.

Tomi doesn't hate Nokia - just since Elop's burning platform memo and his subsequent idiotic decisions resulting in the company losing 95% of its value and their shares becoming junk status.

I give Nokia about as much chance as RIM - both are effectively dead.
