MSE News: O2 customers to get compensation after outage

I hope those people will not accept any compensation from O2 now.
For the financial loss I suffered I'd rather see the money go to a charity than back to me.
I'd get maybe 15p back nothing to me and I suspect most people, but if they bundled it up and gave it to a few charities thats far better.0 -
I look forward to getting back £1 on my September bill with Tesco.
Something is better than nothing.0 -

Better than nothing I suppose.
Ten quid top up???....:p0 -
Listen to it, the big bad company is offering pitence for lost service for a day, boohoo. Some people need to get out more, compo culture is alive and well and can be found on the MSE boards.
lol, dry your eyes. It has nothing to do with compo. More the fact that O2 couldn't supply the service they were charging people for.
If you went to the petrol station and filled your tank with £10 of fresh air, wouldn't you be annoyed?0 -
We were pretty clobbered when O2 was down. We use our phones to run our business. Hubby happened to be working remotely that day - and he tends to be in the phone for several hours a day anyway. He also gets alerts via text message, which obviously didn't get through. (His clients could literally lose millions if their systems failed and weren't fixed quickly.) It was bloody inconvenient.
The compensation package does go some way to making up for it, for us at least.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

If it's that critical then you should be on a business plan with consequensial loss, or are you just on a personal plan?0 -

Hubby is on a business plan. His is the really critical one. Mine is personal but will move to business once contract is up later this year.
ETA: O2'sbusiness plans don't cover consequential loss.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

To be honest, I didn't even notice I had no network connection until I read twitter at work.
Shows how popular I am! *cries*0 -

Plans don't but you can add Consequnsial loss insurance on but you can't on a personal plan, but it's not cheap. Of course being on a business plan won't help if the network goes down, but you get more chance of compensations if it does.0 -
I just got a text from O2,saying I'll get 10% off my next top up in Sept & a £10 voucher that can be used instore to buy Priority Moments....Which is,for me,about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! To thank all our customers for supporting us through an unprecedented and difficult period, we are also giving everyone on O2 a £10 O2 voucher to spend in store. This will be redeemable via the O2 Priority Moments app or online at https://www.o2.co.uk/priority. It will be available between 1st and 30th September to download through Priority Moments and use in store, with no minimum spend. (One voucher can be used per transaction and no change given.)0
