As a woman I am often baffled by the double standards I read about on this site.

Me too! Men often get a rough deal on here, especially where kids are involved.

Should he just ignore my stupidity and buy me some diamonds and a horse?

Why the hell did you marry him if he hadn't ALREADY bought you diamonds and a horse? What's wrong with you, woman????

He gave me a pearl necklace and I rode him before we got married - does that count?

Oh oh oh!!! EW! Now I have images of a woman in a shellsuit doing unforgiveable things to a horse.

    Thanks for that.

It very much depends on how it is said (and ultimately interpreted). My partner calls me at times 'stupid, piky, smelly, baboon, to name a few.... but it is only a reflection of his limited vocabulary and poor sense of humour!!! I do know that he doesn't mean these words nastily. If he gets through a stage when they are said a bit too close to each other, I will answer him accordingly.

If he was to tell me that I was stupid in an aggressive, patronizing way, he would definitely be made aware of what I thought of it...

If I act a !!!!, he calls me one
If he acts a !!!!, he's called one.

And I've been doing plenty of riding, as has he, for the past year. Shocked he's not saddle sore ;) (Although he has had to go for an operation and may need another one... I broke him, can I get a refund?)
