I nominate Ted Hutchinson for posts such as on this thread he very often makes regarding Disability Living Allowance and other health and benefit related matters on the Benefits board & elsewhere.
A successful DLA claim or appeal, for instance middle rate care element (2004-5) is £39.35 and low mobility element £15.55, amounts to £54.90 per week plus that a person could be better off in this example. DLA also can increase Income Support because an extra premium is then added in. This is a huge, significant gain for someone who is disabled.
This is the first time I remember looking at this board, and I feel that a post that can have a seriously beneficial impact on someone's life should get this rather than the shallow posts that appear to. I've noticed that far more people read the "Grab It" board than any other but there are far more significant and lasting gains made on other boards on the site which seem to be going unrecognised.Torgwen.....................
