    Here you go:

    ......................................................................

Have a few commas for free:

    ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I have to admit I too got more from the replies than the original post.

It seems the only thing to do is cross fingers and hope the punishment isn't too painful. Such a shame when it sounds like you'd done the sensible thing and trailored the car to the garage initially.

Worth doing a few insurance comparisons to see what impact it is going to have on premiums.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

I started to read e post but without punctuation couldn't make head nor tale of it.

I lost interest and went to another page.

But from what I could make out before I got a headache. the car wasn't taxed or insured. so the police took it?

    Sounds reasonable to me.

...then she was gonna scrap hers yesterday ...

This other car needs to be scrapped or taken off the road and declared SORN or there will be another penalty coming her way

    Goodness, that's a good point.

What has happened to the GFs car now that the insurance was transferred then cancelled?

So car impounded for no insurance or tax.

    Drove it illegally to MOT.

Was going to tax it and insure it Monday - should not have had it on the road then.

When one insurance ends the new one has to start you can not opt to have no tax for days it is illegal to have a vehicle on the road driven or not without tax).

If you son had had an accident to and from the MOT the what? and we all wonder why insurance ramps up each year as we are paying for those that don't.
The police have done their job here and the insurance are within their rights to cancel as she did not declare the facts when taking out new insurance.
