Grief indeed ... Can not imagine what its like for people who are not computer literate or not happy on the phone ...
Indeed. That's why people like Age UK have advisors who can help out those who are confused by their bills (at least my local branch does).
You can't blame someone (elderly or not) who cannot make any sense of what is to them a ridiculous bill they've just received. They don't know where to start unravelling it all and fail to understand why it is any more complicated than buying petrol for a car.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Yes that sounds about right, the kwh are roughly what I said but I did not know your tariff so worked the cost out at 4p per kwh. Your tariff perhaps is not the lowest! The charge for this time period they say is £609.05 = 12486.71 kWh used over 302 days.....???
Sound right ,,, ?
As for the BG c0ck ups, you can see why I chose my user name!
As for the latest new bill it is possible that they have gone back to the bill previous to September, as there was no bill produced at the time of the meter change, so it will have some imperial and some metric readings, but of course they should include on it all payments you have made since then.
For your peace of mind I should post details of the bill when you get it sorted and let us advise if it is correct.0 -
So this was all resolved last night , all figures checked and doubled checked by a manager @BG...
I have no idea if it was because i mentioned the fact i was getting info from MSE and reading the Watchdog site ..
As i was talking to the manager i mentioned was it worth asking for compensation he then to my surprise took £142 off the bill....
So we have gone from over a £1000 to £200 ,,,
Thank you all for the advice ..
Maybe i should start a good customer service thread about BG lol....0 -
Glad you got it sorted.
You should have a better idea how to keep an eye on it now too!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Did he correct it before giving you the compensation?
An old trick with a confusing consumption problem is to state they are getting X compensation..,which was really part of the correction.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
