With the support of those close to me I have found coping mechanisms to go out occasionally - there is plenty of information online that could help you look into this, you don't need to be an expert to help in this way. The worst thing you can do is reinforce his negative thought patterns, and that is the attitude that is coming across from you at present.
Sorry but cant agree that you can say you can empathise with him because you cant because "going out occasionally" is not the same as going to a WFI at all or having to go to training days or anything else thats suggested.I worked with ppl with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour for 12 years so I know about reinforcing negative thoughts, because Id have got a beating had I gone about doing that, so thats not what I do. I have tried helping him but it doesnt work probably because Im too close to him and dont suggest medical help as our health aurthority doesnt have any money for mental health services and as he cant go out ,going to medical appointments again is not possible, and we have tried it previously without success . Anyway I very much doubt that DWP will wait whilst I try to convince him to leave the house as they would have a long wait.0 -
you can request a telephone interview, but its at the advisors discretion.
mine is very good and didnt have a problem when i had to wait in for the heating engineer to arrive.
you will not be able to start a claim for income support while his ESA claim is still ;kuve' so that will have to be cancelled first.0 -
is this a definate???? sorry not doubting just wondered if I did that would they not try to stop me in some sly way

Yes, your partner can go on your claim (it has to be in your name.)
Be aware that the downside of doing this is if for any reason MRC (middle rate care) is removed or lowered on DLA review, you will loose your carers and ESA will have to be claimed from scratch - you will loose the transfer protection (as your partner already had it) and you will only get basic rate until a decision is made.
It is possible to have WFI over the phone. Ring them and ask.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -

The IS claim is in my name so thats no problem I did figure the risk is there with regards to loosing the MRC part of DLA esp if the government decide that DLA is next on their hit list
I didnt end up going to see someone at the job centre today as wasnt in the correct frame of mind (would more than likely of got angry) Just to clarify my partner wont speak to strangers on the phone either (part of his anxiety) so even a phone interview isnt an option I did ask for someone to come to the house but I guess they missed that bit on the form or chose to ignore it.I may suggest they set up some form of "live chat" messaging service like t-mobile,bt and other companies run online,,,,,now that he could do

Sorry to be blunt, but if he wants the money he has to play the game, as it were. They can only bend over backwards so far for him.
The same as if a worker wants their wages, they have to go to work.0 -

Anyway on a more calmer note,,,, I went to the local JC plus earlier and spoke to a very nice lady on the reception who tried to get hold of the guy whom my partner as the WFI with but he wasnt in today so she gave me his direct number for me to phone him and speak to him tomorrow which I will do. She also said there is no reason why he cant go on my IS claim but as we have appealed the esa decision its probably worth letting it run and seeing what happens and then making a decision I had thought of this so spoke to my partner and he thinks for now its the best idea.Things may all change though after Iv spoken to the WFI guy.0
