" its all down hill now dad"

But it need not be! 'The best is yet to come...'

I fell in love all over again aged 62, widowed, redundant, struggling to earn a living. Life does NOT stop at 50 or at any other age.

I suggest you start telling everyone you're forty ten, if nothing else it will make you giggle

Oh yes, I'm an antique teenager too ;)

The strange thing about heading for the big 50 is that it's only about a month or so before you're very suddenly heading for the big 60. I mean, surely ten years can't possibly have gone by THAT fast...???

Have a read of 'Warning' by Jenny Joseph (change the gender if necessary!)

I used to have this pinned up in my office until I left the place. Cheers me up every time I read it.

Great poem, but the way the NHS police is watching us, when I'm old , there'll be no drinking brandy or eating butter allowed! As for growing fat.... :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Well, I have my kids wondering, I have just brought loads of new jeans, cargo trousers,T shirts & other tops, new trainers, in short, a new wardrobe.

I catch them looking & scratching their heads, what fun!!.
I am now at the age where i can be a pain to my kids & not the other way around.

So, you're 50...there are no 'benefits' as 50 is not old anymore: you've got 20 years before state pension age ;)

National Express coaches used to have a 50+ card but there has been a bit of inflation and now it it 60+.

    http://www.nationalexpress.com/coach/offers/senior-coachcards.aspx

You could try “over 50s experts” Staysure, or Saga,

By the time the original poster gets there it will be 70+
