very patchy provision though (none where we are now) I hope OP lives near a group - our whole family maintain friendships from our times in Woodcraft0 -
Thanks everyne.
Funnily enough, the day I posted this thread he came back frm school asking if he can try Taekwando as his best friend at school does.
So we are gonna give that a go and see how he likes it.0 -
Talk to him and see what he likes the sound of. Remember there's nothing wrong with just being a quiet, introverted sort. Some kids get all the human contact they need at school and would rather read in the evenings. (I was like that.)
Is he musical? Learning an instrument will get him off the laptop, and while it can be solitary it provides opportunities to meet people throughout life.0 -
i was going to suggest guitar or something similar... my then 8 yr old DS (now 13) strted t that age hated it for the first month but after perserverance he is now quite brilliant......he now downloads his own songs on youtube and learns to play others from songstar, thereby including his love of computers
when he was 8 i never grounded him for being naughty, i sent him out to play because he would never go out lolIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?
