    Morning,
Wet and grey here too,but quite nice yesterday if on the cool side.We had a family get together for DS2s 30th birthday, its actually tomorrow but had to do it yesterday to get everyone here.I've been a busy bee, cooking and baking, but have to confess a quick trip to C0$tc0 yesterday morning to pick up a sandwich platter and some other bits.Got a big pack of mince too,so cottage pie tonight for tea, will freeze the rest to batch cook at a later date, not got time today.
It was lovely to get together, our best friends and their son came too-son is between our two in age and get on well.He brought his guitar and treated us to a mini gig.My 2 brothers had their baby grandsons here and we had DGD,the first time they've been together so lots of pics taken.Hard work keeping an eye on 3 at differing stages of development-I had to block the stairs off with the sofa to stop DGN:rotfl:
Right better go-DS2 wants me to take a look at a possible PP i claim, and I have some credits to use on my family history site-they run out today.
Hope its a good day for you all x

    Mawnin all!:wave::D

Dazi thanks for the pic of the knitted “bouncing turd”; I haven't seen the EDF advert; but from your pic, I can sort of see why you've named it that – I assume viewers are meant to think it's cute or something?

Tru I'm jealous – it's ages since I did a jigsaw!:D But I've got 4 days til Ted arrives, so I need to crack on with housework while I don't have a dog here to distract me.;) How's little Daisy now, btw?:o

Adelight posi-vibes and hope you get your results today.:o

Right; this isn't getting the kitchen tops scrubbed, so I'd better go and get something useful done.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Am off work this week so will be popping in a lot more :)

Lots of OS going on today - need to drag Dyson around upstairs, down the stairs & then around the downstairs rooms, then mop the wooden (most of them!) floors and the attic stairs. WM is on (again) as DH has been doing some repair work in the attic now our roof is watertight again, so have washed the bedding fom the spare bed as even though it was packed away it was a bit dusty. Need to pick up the quilts & pillows from the launderette too, before I rebuild the guest bed. Then I want to dust & polish in the dining room, and dust around & clean the hearth in the lounge. Will be glad when the back of the house is finished and the scaffolding comes down - it makes the kitchen so dark & miserable.

We had chicken & allotment casserole for dinner last night, so I will blitz that into soup for my lunch & some for the freezer. I also want to cook up some mince from the freezer - I will have to decide whether to treat myself and make dumplings too or use the l/o h/g spuds as am trying to reduce my carb intake so can't / won't have both....:p

I'm currently wasting time waiting for the Ocado man to arrive; DH had found a really nice wine while away a couple of weeks ago and Ocado were the only place to sell it at a sensible price without a huge delivery charge, so I did my weekly shop with them too. Not sure I will be doing it every week as it wasn't cheap, but it saved me the trauma of Tesco on a friday evening!

DH is away until late Wednesday so I've got my best friend coming overnight tomorrow & DH's brother for 2 nights on Thursday so won't be short of company. Managed to get to the bottom of my ironing basket yesterday too, but have just realised there is more stuff waiting on the airer...grrr!

Bitsy, has your H finished work yet or is he on his notice period?

Tru, are you a sky-first or picture-first jigsawer?! I tend to work my way in from the edges - when I was younger, we had a family jigsaw every Christmas, usually about 3,000-5,000 pieces. They were done on a piece of hardboard that lived under the sofa and came out every night for us all to do a bit together :)

Floss - H is still on notice period until end of the month. He requested garden leave as he has zero motivation to go in but it's being considered aka dragging their feet. More uncertainty too as bloke who got job that H went for has decided he doesn't actually want the job  and is angling for a different one. That's not saying H will be given job by default, we're working in assumption he will still go at the end of the month. Just sick of all this being up in the air

Floss - we used to have a similar thing in our house too for jigsaws.

In work now, been out for a visit to a school this morning so got soaked. We are all waiting for the email to come round regarding the job shake-up (I'm not worried though), sod's law it will come at 4.30pm!

OS wise - dishes to wash, rubbish went out this morning, LO HM curry for dinner, need to hoover the lounge.

    Have a good day all

Managed to get it on laminate so cue me this morning skidding with both feet into TV unit before falling spectacularly onto my @rse and back :T DD watched the whole thing from comfort of sofa and enquired if I was going to lie on the floor for 15 minutes :rotfl:
