    Keywee how are you doing?

I didn't get far at the weekend but I knew it would be difficult and so am not beating myself up. I'm going to have another go today I can't be soft on myself for too long.
Hi Shop-to-drop, doing OK so far. You are right not to beat yourself up, it's so hard getting back on. I go to my CDC tomorrow for official re-start weigh-in, I am hoping and praying I'm not more than when I first started in January! I am just taking it day by day and looking to the future, there's nothing I can do about the past, except learn from it and hopefully not make the same mistakes again & again & again....................

Hi everyone. Just been reading through some of this thread and am totally inspired by you all. Have decided to bite the bullet and sign up for the CD. Am a bit sceptical, as i have tried Slimming world, weight watchers, etc, but if I don't try, I suppose I will never know! Have sent an email to my local counsellor and just waiting for a reply now. How much does it cost by the way?
    Thanks xx
Hi there, I pay £1.95 per item, but know that this does vary from counsellor to counsellor.

    Good luck.

Just wanted to say to those that have been on Cambridge for a while, you are all doing so well and deserve a pat on the back. :A You are all keeping me going.
  • Another good loss from me 4.5lbs! That is 2 st 3 lbs in 6 weeks. I looked at some photos on my camera tonight from the night that i started the diet. The difference is astounding and really spurs you on!!

Good luck everyone and keep on losing.
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam
  • Hi Welsh_cake, I have done exactly the same as you - Slimming World, Weight Watchers and so on. Each time it, or I didn't let it work.
I hated making food into a hobby, one of the things I wanted to do was not think about it and both of these programmes concentrate so hard on what you are eating. I also didn't like the weekly meetings, I always felt I'd rather be doing something else and didn't need it to be a social event.

I put 4 stone on steadily over 30 years, that's just under 2 lbs a year, with four babies along the way and I've been miserable about my weight on and off for all that time. After Christmas this year, when I had backache and general aches and pains I decided that I wanted to do something about it once and for all, one of my daughters getting married in May has spurred me on too. I've only been doing the CD Sole Source diet for 8 days and take it a day at a time, I can't see it as a long term thing just now, too scary. I've stuck to it and to my surprise it hasn't been very difficult. Days are ok, I would like to nibble in the evenings, but don't and I have not, to my surprise been hungry. My weight loss after the first week was 13lbs, I know this won't happen again, but just think of 3 or 4 pounds in terms of bags of potatoes, that's loads!

For me, only being able to eat the packs of food and not having any other choice has been liberating, it is a bit difficult, but not very. The food isn't appetising, it all has the background flavour of the vitamins and minerals but you get used to it and find the flavours you don't mind so much. I paid £36.75 each week's meals. It is a lot, and not easy to find, and because I have a large family there isn't any difference in my shopping bill, but I am making small sacrifices in other ways to pay for it.

As you may have read I cook for a living, running my own business - making puddings and cakes actually! I don't know if I will succeed on this, I just do one day at a time - well one week I suppose because I have bought the stuff. I do feel better for losing that (probably) stone by now and perfectly well too. So I'll carry on tomorrow.....and tomorrow......

The support on this site is very helpful and on the site www.minimins.com which you've probably noticed on here too. Good luck if you decide to go ahead.

    Mousie.

day one done - still drinking water - had my last pack half an hour ago - i've been busy today so it might have been easier because of that - tomorrow i am back at my desk so lets see how easy it is then! I havent really felt hungry today - not so much that i'm gagging for a burger anyway. All your stories are really spurring me on. I also promised my self today that if i lose 5 stone i am going to go to The Fat Duck to celebrate, and then have to run a lot to work it off.

I can't say i felt like that Mrs T.... drinking enough water might help counteract the bloating... assuming you're not already doing that...?

Day 9 for me today and I am absolutely knackered. Im not sure whether its the diet or the fact im in training for a new job which is very intence. I am craving carbs, I want a jacket tatty with lashings of butter  . I dont feel hungry really but I just really want the taste. Im being good and havent though.

Hope everyone is ok. I have also got the forms to join the gym at my new work. Its been a few years since I was a gym regular, so its going to be a shock to the system!
