By the way - the other thing DEFINITELY not money-saving is with weight loss of more than a couple of stones your clothes will just not fit!

I have lost 6 dress sizes so far. Have been selling stuff on ebay and giving some to a charity shop too. So far haven't done too badly with the selling and the buying.
Oh and the taking in! After 5 stones loss I bought some new trousers/cords for the Winter. On Cambridge within about 4-6 weeks even those were too big, so I take them in.
I don't want to buy any new Winter clothes until October/November this year so will make do with what I have got for now.

Not that I am complaining, you understand, the weight loss is just fabulous -but I do a lot of teaching/lecturing/professional work and I have to look the part.

Luckily, on the clothes front I have clothes going from a size 12 to my current size of 18/20 - I was going to ebay the smaller clothes as they haven't fitted for nearly five years (since I feel pregnant with DD). However, since finding this thread I'm going to do it the other way round and ebay the bigger clothes as I lose.

I'm actually really excited now. I feel quite positive now I've decided to do it.

Hi all, Thanks to a post here on MSE http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=9123485#post9123485 I have an invite to a Wagamama preview next Friday. "When Wagamama open a new store they run an invite only preview event before the opening. The idea is the staff get to practice their skills and you get a free lunch or dinner. The portions are generous and you get a free main course, side dish and 2 drinks each".

Typical - I'm on a diet & I get a restaurant invite. I sent my e-mail before I started on CD however I really want to go as it's ages since me & my OH have been out without the kids. So I've made some plans as to how to tackle this situation:

    1. I will start my AMMW a day later (this Saturday instead of this Friday) and then Friday will be the last day of my AAMW.
    2. I wont have any alcohol.
    3. I will stop eating as soon as I start to feel full.
    4. I will return to SS the very next day.

The only thing is I'm not sure what to have off the menu. If anyone would like to make a suggestion as to what the most CD friendly /damage limitation items are on the menu (http://www.wagamama.com/downloads/menus/uk_main_07.pdf) I'd be really grateful.

I know that this is a potentially slippery slope but I feel more in control of my eating than I ever have & I am certain that I can get back in the saddle on the Saturday, so we'll see how I go.

The New SS Rules from Cambridge.

The whole issue of the new SS rules have been very confusing to say the least.

I have never been treated fairly in any of this, I am supposed to just sit back and allow one person and her cronies to lambast me and nobody bothers to stop her/them
You were warned on many occassions about giving false 'advice' and upsetting people on the forums. We have received numerous complaints from many people over the months but have done still done everything possible to accommodate you.

But anyway Ann, this is certainly not the place to discuss this.

I had a hellish week 2 weeks ago. I ate a roast dinner (chicken, veg and 2 potatoes) and some chilli corn carne and was really upset with myself. But then i thought about it and realised that i'd actually done really well because i hadnt eaten any junk food or had any alcohol which were all readily available. I saw it as a bit of a test to see whether i could eat normally and not go overboard. It makes me feel so much happier about life after CD - which is about 2 stone away!

Its the picking thats the worst - its probably better to make a conscious decision and have a meal instead so atleast your full.

Hope this month is better for you Zara33

Oh crap!! guess i shouldn't say that i have had a hellish month not due to the diet just a lot of personal problems and i haven't been in the right frame of mind to do SS properly :o:(

I'm not giving up on the diet i just need to sort a few things out, i haven't blown out completely just picked too often, when i go for weigh in this month i will be surprised if i have lost much but i will be the only person to blame for this.

That is fine - life comes up and bites us on the bum!

I have a problem with people whom eat a mountain of stuff then come onto a Forum and list everything that they have eaten, hoping that the massive amount of carbs they have consumed won't affect their weight loss!

Cambridge is not like WW or SW. On those diets an extra bit of this or that won't do any damage to the weight loss - on Cambridge it does.

Then folks get despondent at weigh-in when they have lost nothing and throw a fit.

This is just madness to me.

I have a friend whom has lost not 1lb since Christmas. When I was visiting he was chomping through half a packet of hobnobs!!!! They he says that it won't do any harm. Yes it will and yes it does.

Hope everything goes better for you.

When everything gets on top of me I don't eat, I do the opposite.

This is so true. It is better to plan a meal rather than to work through the contents of the fridge/pantry!!

I have had two meals that were off-plan in nearly 8 months. Will have another for my birthday on 14th when I am being taken out to Dinner. However, even then I will keep lowcarb otherwise it might throw me off the diet altogether and I don't want that to happen.

Will skip the desserts altogether, unless they have cheese & biscuits and I will have a small piece of cheese and give the biccies a miss

It just isn't worth the torment of gaining even waterweight after it, really it isn't
