I am so sorry to hear the sad news - but remember what you have given her in the last few months of her life that she wouldn't have otherwise have had.

At moments like these I sometimes wonder why we have dogs because losing them is so painful. Then I remember the love and joy they bring to us and hopefully we to them.

Take care of yourself and remember the good times.

That is so sad, but you did a wonderful thing and made her last few months happy. She was loved and not alone.

I am so unbelievably sorry and so very sad to read this.

I really enjoyed hearing all your tales about Kia and you.

Like I said to you before she was clearly meant to be your dog, I do believe in fate and that in life some things happen for a reason although life can also be very cruel too. Maybe she was sent to you to teach you something in the (unfortunately) short time that you spent together.......

Echoing what everyone has said please take comfort from the fact she was loved and happy with you.

Take care, sending you a big hug. xxx

So very sorry to hear that Kia has gone but at least she went without you having to make that awful decision that we all dread.
You gave her a few happy months in the last stage of her life, she knew she was loved and was not alone when the time came.
If she had started to suffer with her legs, at least she is at peace now. Bless her.

    Rest in peace Kia

Can't believe it, and I'm sure you can't too.

Albeit a shorter time than you had planned, you gave Kia a lovely life, one in which she felt secure and loved.

If only all dogs could have this love.

My eyes are leaking for you!

Thanks everyone for being so kind.

I had to work today and it was so hard, I have since came home and totally broke down when I saw her food bowl with food and water still there :(

Have gathered up her things and going to donate them to the rescue.

We chose to bury her in our garden so it now resembles a mudgarden but it was the option we preferred, with today being a bank holiday in Scotland our vets were closed and the only other option was a drive into Glasgow to an unknown vet to take her away and for me that was just too impersonal, had our own vet been open I may have thought different.

I keep expecting her to come into the room :(

I don't know where I go from here now.

I know that I would like another dog.. a puppy.

When ? How ? Will people think I am trying to replace her ? When is too soon ? I really don't know :(

the house feels SO empty already
