Another jet2 rip-off

This is a large family group and 1 surname was wrong.
You still haven't clarified what the mistake was. If it was a single letter or two that you typed wrong I'd consider it good customer service from Jet2 if they would change this for for free. However, if you typed in a completely wrong name it's a different matter.0 -
Thanks for all you `support' . This is a large family group and 1 surname was wrong. I said on original posting that I expected to pay! what I object to was it costing £210.50p. I cannot see this in the term and conditions.
I thought maybe this has happened to a forum member and a useful comment may follow. `Sarcasm is free same as good advice'.
Thanks anyway
Ferf has shown you (twice) what the T&Cs say.
Even if you can't see it in the T&Cs, it is there.
You may not like some of the replies (and maybe some were a bit harsh or irreverant) but MSE is not a 'Let's all agree with the poster even though he's in the wrong' website.
Unfortunately you made a mistake (and you're not the first and almost certainly won't be the last) and have to pay to put that mistake right - if you still want the flight.0 -
If it was only a letter or two and an obvious typo, Jet2.com would certainly have changed it free of charge - at least they used to when I worked for them. This space has been intentionally left blank0

sounds like maybe an assumption was made on the surname of one family member that was incorrect..."surname was wrong" doesn't sound like it was a typo in this case.
maybe someone was married and didn't take married name yet (or hasn't changed passport and travels in maiden name, etc) or never took a married name, or something like that.
But if that's the case, then as far as the airline is concerned the change could be to a completely different person, so it's understandable they would apply the charges to change the name as they have done.
an annoying and costly mistake, but doesn't sound like the airline has done anything other than what most airlines would do in the circumstances.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
... doesn't sound like the airline has done anything other than what most airlines would do in the circumstances.
Is that 'reasonably charge' or 'unfairly penalise' considering that there was no change in the person who actually travelled?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
