BA sat corpse in first class
Comments

most planes ive been have crew seats with harnesses hidden away at the rear , jumbos alos have some sort of rest area up in the tail
id have thought that would have the best place to hide a body out of the way..and the crew member could take first class seating for landing0 -
Crew seats are situated at the doors and overwings in general so on take off and landing anyone sitting there has to be prepared in the event of an emergency and be able bodied. If you sat a dead body on any of these seats there is a chance it could slip off blocking an exit. The best thing is to keep them in a passenger seat, secure them with the seatbelt and cover them up with a blanket as if they are asleep. If the relatives of the deceased had become hysterical then the crew would have had to move them to avoid upsetting other passengers. The back of the aircraft tends to have a lot of activity going on as the crew there are dealing with the whole of economy and wt+ so First Class would have been the only option in this case as it was the quietest place for the body having the minimal amount of passengers and crew in it. I had a passenger die on a flight and the only people aware of it were the crew and the passenger sitting next to them (who were moved). As far as the other passengers were concerned, the passenger was asleep and they all got off at their destination blissfully unaware, these things happen sadly.0

Why couldn't they just leave her where she died and move the nearest passengers to first class? Either way, the least they could do is offer free flights to those who were disrupted if they haven't got a suitable emergency plan in place. It's nothing to them.
Mind you, everything is nothing to BA, like customer satisfaction, basic courtesy etc etcFor everything else, there's MSE :T0 -

You're being unneccesarily harsh on BA to suit your own issues. The corpse was placed in the ONLY seat available in the whole plane, which was in 1st class. They couldn't have moved the other economy class passengers to any 'spare' seats as there were none.
Again, I thought this was dealt with it the best it could by the crew, the issue is with the passenger deeming it necessary to go to the world press and make a song and dance about it - probably because he didn't get what he deemed as sufficient 'compensation' from BA's Customer Services.
I havn't heard any other complaints from the 350+ odd passengers on the plane, so it appears only 1 was inconvenienced (excluding the one that died, which is a tad inconvenient). I consider that good going.0
