What did you think of the pics?
has he known how to fit a push fit correctly with rings on outside?
    if not I've got him.
    thanks
I'd hoped that Post #88 would have given a bit of a clue as to my general opinion of the install but my opinion isn't necessarily what you need right now. I'm not sure how you've "got him" though. Yes it looks like it wasn't done properly. Yes people make mistakes. We all make mistakes. I've flooded a kitchen before now - it happens. What should be done is man-up and fix it and it looked as though that's what they were doing initially.

Now a fixable situation has turned into confrontation and you both have to carry part of the blame for that although I'd suggest the most significant element is on their side.

"Getting him" seems pointless. You need the job finished (bath side panel re-instated, kitchen ceiling repaired/redecorated. They need to just fix it and wind their daft necks in over "poor quality" and a "mornings money". That was their big mistake and rightly got your back up

I think a cold light of day telephone discussion tomorrow would be wise and both of you need to be conciliatory

    Cheers

    According to online dictionaries....
    OK.
You spelt really wrong. And 'thats' has an apostrophe before the 's'.
Yes I know - guilty as charge m'lud. Typing errors. I'll stop trying to write posts via the Galaxy then. :p
I will continue to use the term Small Claims Court, and I'll refrain from commenting on your crimes against the English language. :D
Well I am not sure how my inability to spell really falls into the same category as perpetuating a misleading myth. So by all means continue to be my personal grammar and spelling policeman if you wish but if its OK I think I'll continue to mention about Small Claims whenever someone repeats the myth that there is a specific court to hear them - which there isn't.

Hi - See fitting instructions where it states 'Fit inside the tube' for the O rings?

On the pics I previously posted do they look to have been fitted on the outside?? See here - http://tinypic.com/r/2ppaoet/6 Zoom in if necessary.

    Thanks,
    Simon

O rings is black not white. The two circular bits you can see on the pipe and to which you refer are the two annuli in the wall of the overflow pipe into which the O rings fit inside the pipe.

Here is the photo I took BEFORE they figured out the problem - see how the said pipe in question is standing upright in the background?

This is what they told me had fallen over or was not straight and so water was spurting out when the bath emptied - is that even possible?

    http://tinypic.com/r/15zplvl/6

Looking at the angle of the overflow pipe from the trap (i.e. it goes down instead of up) it looks to me like they hadn't connected it at the trap properly rather than the problem being at the overflow end. Also judging by the trail of water that too leads me to leaking from the trap.

My suspicion is they've put the hose clip on as a smokescreen.

Regardless, the advice you've been given to get a pro in to check it out is sound and prudent. Put it all behind you now and move on.
