  • Ahhh ok, maybe you can add in the description about adding the signature? I would certainly prefer to know you can do it than ask after paying.

Re the commisions maybe make a different listing explaining that you are happy to do commisions etc and how that would work for both yourself and the customer.

The homepage is set as -
User cp - Edit your details - Homepage box near top.

Ahh its ok, I used to sell my own cards so kinda up-to-date on selling handmade. I don't know if you know this but Folksy is a bristish site, if you decide to sell abroad I would suggest using Etsy too as thats more well known in the states etc.

Good idea about the signature PAP. I'll keep in mind about the commissions - not quite ready for those yet as I need to get some stock together for displaying in the florists, etc.

No wonder you're so up to speed on this stuff - do you still do cards? I did know about Etsy but chose Folksy to start with because it's British and because it only has original and handmade listings. When I have enough stock though I will give Etsy a try.

    Thanks again PAP

  • Woo hoo, congrats Fortune *clap* *smilie* *beer* etc etc

The signature also reduces the amount of questions/emails you may recieve which is always good if you don't have time on your hands. Ahh that makes sense re the florist stock. Plus its always good if you have a stock to fall back on.

No don't do my cards anymore as time etc wasn't on my side, I still craft though *smile* As you say you can always try etsy later on in your journey. Two more tips, but I maybe teaching you to suck eggs...

Keep your invoices of sales and any reciepts of things you buy to make these. There may come a point where you need to register with the tax man *shock* I did from the word go because it felt right however I never payed any tax for nearly 3 years. Keep the paperwork now in case.

If you are thinking of doing craft fairs especially christmas craft fairs look and book tables now, even if you don't then attend. The best craft fairs book up very soon so don't miss out!

Great news. We can say we knew you when you just started :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks PAP. It'll take me a couple of decades to recoup of the costs of my materials - lol. I have got all of the receipts though.
