I still haven't started this book Tilly. It's 'The Letter' by Kathryn Hughes and the more I'm delayed in starting it, the more excited I get about reading it.Thats bad news on the fish offer! And very cheeky of them to substitute full price! Good for you for noticing straight away. Hope your day today goes well.
They are usually quite good about putting things right Karma. In the meantime, I've had a veg box delivery full of delicious, fresh produce that should keep me going for a while.

I couldn't have picked a better day to take a tour out. Fabulous weather and the Kent countryside looked amazing in the sunshine.
Money Saving- an NSD
- made a sandwich to take to work with me
- leftover Courgette Pasta Bake for supper.
- did a tour this morning and stayed on for a couple of extra hours
- booked in a couple more dates.
- on my feet for most of the day and my back held up
- ate healthily.
- feeling smart in my new (bargain) cardigan
- lunch made with freshly baked walnut bread, local cheese and salad from the garden - it was delicious
- the chance to walk through beautiful countryside on an English summer's day
- popping over to have a chat with Across-the-Lane-Neighbour
- an unexpected invite to meet for lunch with a friend today.
Hoping lilies are blooming in your life too

We've just had the most amazing storm - real monsoon weather. So glad it's happening today and not tomorrow when I have two tours to take out.
Today's efforts:
Money Saving- do I dare put this down under money saving?
I've just booked my big birthday trip for next year! It seemed so expensive my hand was shaking as I pressed the 'confirm' button. However, I got a 0.5% discount for early booking and a whopping 6% cashbook through an exclusive, short term offer on Quidc0. We have saved up the money for it so I could pay on a debit card and avoid the extortionate charge for using a credit card. Soooo exciting!
- met a friend for lunch and used my staff discount at the Estate pub - 35% off
- cancelled my professional membership - £168 a year better off
- finished cleaning the bathroom
- went for a walk through the countryside with my friend before lunch
- just fruit for supper as my lunch was so filling
- having an exciting trip to look forward to and knowing I'll be celebrating my 21st (ahem) in style
- realising that we'll also be away for Mr F's birthday so he gets to celebrate in style too
- having some intelligent conversation and a meal out with a lovely friend
- sending friend away with a gift of salad from my garden
- posting a gift to a poorly friend to help cheer her up
- getting things rolling with the WI Book Club.
Don't stand under a tree now

The storms cleared by the time I got to work today. I've been so lucky with the weather so far.
Money Saving- took a sandwich into work for lunch today
- did a whole day at work
- withdraw a whole 82p from TCB :rotfl:
- took two tours out today - 2 miles/5000 steps each
- Mr F and I went out for dinner tonight. He's going to be away with work for most of the summer so we've decided to make the best of the time when he's home.
Sleep tight all

I took Mr F to Ik£a yesterday for the first and only time in the 12 years we've known each other. I think he's still in shock :rotfl:
Money Saving:- bought our planned items from Ik£a. I'd shopped around and found them to be the cheapest even with a long trip and road tolls involved
- we have a new kitchen tap to replace the current leaky one
- and boxes for the wardrobe so I can do some more Kondoing
- chose a healthier option for lunch whilst we were out - we won't talk about the cake we had for desert
- just a light supper to compensate - Carrot Top Soup with walnut bread
- shared a bottle of red with supper
- watched a couple of GOT's episodes
Happy Monday!

Mr F is off on a work trip again tomorrow for a couple of weeks
He is packing as I type
There aren't even going to be presents to look forward to this time as he's been to the country before and we've agreed he's only to bring me back a present if he's visiting a new country
I will have to occupy myself with MS activity:
Money Making:- finalised a response to FO$ about the PPI claim
- took a provisional booking for another tour
- contacted JL about a missing item in my last delivery
- baked apple muffins to use up some sulky fruit and save on buying snacks
- cancelled this week's veg box. I won't need as much with Mr F being away
- a neighbour popped by to let us know he's bought some felled trees from a local farmer at a really good price. If Mr F helps with the cutting and loading, we can have some logs for the same money
- Lentil & Tomato Salad with grilled halloumi for lunch
- Sausage, Peas & Horseradish Dauphinoise for supper
- a little gardening. I'll be going on a slug hunt later to see if I can save the dwarf runners:eek:
- bought a brand new t-shirt from Fleabay for about a third of the usual price
- a routine visit to the dentist. All is well
- see
- having all the windows open in the house with the scent of the flowers and herbs from my garden drifting through
- realising that I have spring onions in the raised bed that are ready for eating. It's the first time I've grown them
- looking out over the wild flower meadow that abuts our back garden
- starting a book club and getting to suggest the first book.
