Hi Terry.
I tried the ombudsman in relation to the dispute with my arrears and the dispute I had and got nowhere, and with the meter change they have carried out for me, they have handled it all, as I don't have a clue and didn't even know I could have it done, so for me it's been nice having someone sort things out for me.
The utility companies shoud really be more clearer of whathey can actually do for their customers and help them instead of in my experience bully them.0 -

Why didn't the ombudsman obtain a result to prevent paying for consumption you shouldn't have? Or was it as issue whereby you were on unfavourable rates, hence paying for legal action to recover it?:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

Hi, I have been reading all the forums on UBS of Stoney street, Nottingham,
and I have to say, I have been a mug, and paid £200 to them. A lady called on me at my business premises in May 2012 and went through the same routine as the previous posts, and few days later had a invoice for £400 pounds discounted to £200 pounds, which (being a mug) I paid by credit card. I have also got the paperwork saying I will get the deposit back. I tried to ring them last week, but the number was dead. I cannot believe I did this, usually I always check with money savings expert but there we are, if I could kick myself I would. Anyway as I paid with credit card, is there any way I can get my money back?0 -

Smita - Just follow the advice of MoneySavingExpert.com under the section:
Section 75 refunds
There's a secret phrase that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence super hero. "Section 75" laws means your plastic must protect anything you buy over £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust you can still get your money back.
If you have concerns start a claim against your credit card company about the services of ubs and at the same time report your concerns to Trading Standards.
Out of curiosity what was the £200.00 deposit you paid for?
Good luck and let us know how you get on.0 -
Report them I have. The have took my money and constantly lied for months and months now. They are abusive and the most unprofessional company I have dealt with, I feel I have been conned completely. The address on the letter is notisted as there address and the phone number in the only letter received is not recognised. I had to google to get a proper number. They need reporting to watchdog.0

So, are you stating you are from UBS given you use "we"?:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
