our 2 week old grandchild will not rest on an evening. We are trying most things colic drops new colic bottles but actually looking around parenting websites I see some mothers are using soothing baby sounds and music. Hopefully someone can direct me to what they use and hopefully it will work.
Any ideas please.

My baby isn't due for another week, but I've heard fantastic things about Ewan the Dream sheep.

White noise cd!!!!! was my saviour when my son was little and wouldnt settle, i think i actually downloaded it off the net somewhere (oops, naughty frazzled mummy lol!!)
He had all the mobiles, musical/vibrating bouncy chairs and musical toys etc, but this was the one thing that worked for us.0 -
We used this with my DD, she used to wake as soon as the house when quite. We put the CD player underneath her cot so that the soundsort of encompassed her.

Hi
My little man is 4 weeks on Saturday and finds his Ewan dream sheep quite soothing - although nothing beats the sound of the washing machine/tumble dryer!
I also play Baby Einstein Lullaby Classics CD - not sure how much little man likes it but I find it very relaxing!MFW!

Ewan is amazing
colic is colic though, you just have to ride it out, in my experience none of these "miracle" cures worked, MAM bottles were the best I tried though x

Actually not sure if anyone knows but I checked out Youtube and there is lots there. So I searched google to see if you can convert youtube to mp3 and found this website.
http://www.video2mp3.net/
Baiscally you copy and paste the link from youtube and put it into this website and it converts the music in seconds. Yuo then download the music and burn to cd.
Well ive just made a cd of dolphin music and other soothing music so hope it helps!!All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

I absolutely second white noise - it worked a treat for my son. There are now lots of versions on you tube, so you might need to experiment and you can download some from iTunes.
This is one off YouTube:

Apparently white noise only works if they do have colic - all I know is that my son stopped crying pretty much immediately.
Because it was several years ago, the website we got our cd from is no longer available. what i do know though is that I replayed the 3 minute sample again and again. By the time the cd arrived, my son's colic phase had stopped!MSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0 -
not specifically baby music, but I used Enya and Enigma for her sleeping music as it tends not to command a premium like baby music and doesn’t contain any crescendos which are common in normal classical music.
(also just a little note about the youtube to mp3 converters, they are certainly within the gray areas of copyright law)Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Aren't you expecting a bit much for a two-week-old baby? At this age they are unlikely to follow *any* sort of routine, and it should be expected the days/nights/evenings pass in sleep-deprived delerium.0
