YODEL says delivered without delivering- advice please

Hello all

My first post

Ordered an apple laptop from Dixons. Paid by Visa debit card (fool that I am)
Yodel website that tracks parcel said an attempt was made to deliver but left card (on the 10th) when we were 3 adults in a small 3 bed room house and I was sat in the living room when they claimed to have come. No card was found.

Yesterday after I raised a hue and cry the status on thier website changed to delivered. No deliuvery was made. the driver did nto answer his mobile (Yodel CC gave me his number and name).

Spoke to Dixons who have riased an enquiry with Yodel they say. they say i will recevie some DNR notification.

I am a bit disheartened byu all this. Police give sympathy but do not want to get involved anymore.
CAB say wait till the internal invertigation is over.

My neighbour who was outside and is haveing some building work done at that time in question is happy to come to my eivdence to prove no one came to my house at the stated time. My gardner who was working on the house at that time says no one turned up as far as she knows. We were 3 adults in the house and no delivery was made.

Any advice on where we stand.
This seems to be a reccrent problem with Yodel and any forums are speaking about it. Even watch dog(BBC) has investigated their sister concerl in 2010.

I've been in the same situation - I called them and said nothing has been delivered etc etc. After 2 days of chasing the driver delivered it in their own car and said the usually garbage 'sorry, it was an error on the system blah blah blah'.

    Awful company.

Keep chasing it and you'll get your laptop or compensation eventually ;)

Yodel seem to spend more effort threatening sites with content complaining about them than finding all the 'delivered' parcels.
  • I had this same problem with an ipad ordered from Very and delivered by Yodel. The goods never turned up and apparently I signed for it with a scribble as the signature.
You need to chase it with Dixons not Yodel, its a long process (mines a month and still waiting) you will get there though. And im surprised crooks like Yodel are still allowed to be in business awful company.
  • after all the fuss yodel lady arrived in an unmarked car with an open parcel, had to send it backa sDixons said if i accept the parce land is open cannot return it, couldnt be bothered to explain to the ....... that the parcel was aready open and unboxed.

I would make sure you notify Dixons of what happened, just so you're on the record as having had to reject the delivery as it had obviously been opened. Given what others have said I'd hate for them to say it's been delivered when you're trying to chase a refund or replacement.

Had the same problem last Tuesday when waiting at home for a delivery from Carphone Warehouse who in their wisdom use Yodel. I kept checking the tracking details to see when the phone was out for delivery only to find that at mid-day it was shown as delivered. I found this odd as at that time I was outside cleaning my car and to deliver the parcel they would have had to walk past me, which no one did!

It is not possible to call Yodel you can only e-mail, needless to say I have yet to receive an answer. I called CPW and was told by an advisor that they would call Yodel and get back to me within two hour, no call was returned. A further call and the advisor contacted Yodel and was told that the company was unable to get hold of the driver. A few hours later the tracking showed that the parcel had been returned to the depot. I was given no explanation from either CPW or Yodel. The phone was delivered three days later.

I received a parcel from another company using Yodel a few weeks ago when the weather was really bad. I commented to the driver about the heavy rain and he replied that he didn't speak English, I think this says it all.

In future when I order online I will check which delivery company is being used before I confirm the order.

    @Melbell,

    30 seconds?

Could you please post the link for the page with this info as the 'contact us' page and 'complaint' page will only show the e-mail web access page and no other contact details.
