Sounds like the change was the best thing u did, we've had niggles before, but due to other circumstances we couldn't change GPs, as it would have gone against us, so it was a case of grin and bear it. We've ordered a repeat prescreption (covers us throu the change), drop new papers off Thurs, dropped the complaint off by hand so they can't deny they haven't got it. Sounds daft miss couple of the GPs, theyve been really supportive, I've been same surgery since birth, and our registed GP we've been his patient for 5 yrs. x

My only regret really was not doing it years ago, but at the time the alternative surgery was a long way, and with 2 kids I didn't want to be going half way across town.
The GP who I was with before told my Mum, during her consultation, that my Dad had lung cancer again. At the time Dad had decided to tell Mum when he had come to terms with it, that was ruined when the GP dropped it on her midway through an Asthma check. I don't think I ever forgave him for that and it soured the previously good relationship we had.

I don't think I realised just how inefficient the old surgery was until I got to the new one. I'm incredibly happy with my GP now. He's Irish and as mad as a box of frogs but I feel more confident and comfortable with him than I ever did my old one.

@ Pulliptears, I've also got Ehlers-Danlos. Are you on facebook? There are some fantastic forums on there. x

I am yes, can't say as I've really looked much into the forums. I'll have a look, thank you!

She cannot stop a child of 9 1/2 getting this as it is free, so complain away. And also mention that you have a complaint against her re your med's too. Go to PCT I think and tell them all what you have told us here. If you are Diabetic and on tablets/insulin then you are entitled to free scripts no matter what or how many med's are on them. I have 2 illnesses that qualify me for free med's, so god knows what she'd say to me about all mine! Gov't states you're entitled then you're entitled. GP has no say in it all. And if she denied me my med's, by God she'd hear from me and also my MP and PCT and anyone else I could think of. Perhaps report to GMC too!

Not on the doctor's side on this at all but surely it is up to the doctor or at least GP surgery what they put on a repeat prescription? I don't understand what you mean by her not being able to stop the child getting it because she is 9 1/2 surely the child can only get what the doctor chooses to prescribe or can a child just waltz up and get a whole range of medicines they have no need for "because they are 9 1/2 and it's free?"
