windswept, What a stupid PO woman! I'd have been so mad.

If you still have to queue up and get the COP stamped what is the point in the Royal Mail pre-paid postage and label thing?

its quicker to get a few things stamped than it is having to wait while all your parcels are weighed and labels are printed

I suppose that could be true.

Windswept, I have similar experience before. The Post Master insisted I could not send the pack overseas as small packet, because according to him, the pack is not small!

Whether it is small or not, it should be based on the definition of Royal Mail, not on his own judgement. I knew I could send it as small packet because I measured it and it is way under the dimension stated by Royal Mail.

That post master knew nothing about posting and after a few incidents, I just stopped using that Post Office and went to one farther away but which provides really good service.

in my local post office the queues aren't normally that long (well until i go in there that is!)

i used to often stand at the desk for 15-30 minutes while my items were weighed and stamped and a large queue formed behind me with people sighing

now i just hand over my forms to get stamped and thats it
  • Anyone having any joy fitting the printed stamp onto a standard type label.

My printout seems to take up 1/4 of a page which isn't a standard label.

I'm sure this works well on the bags with the document pouches but i've hundreds of the normal bags to get shot of.

It looks about 1/4 of an A4 page to me (A6?). I just printed on plain paper and taped on as I don't have labels (yet). The proof of delivery is a bit of a waste of paper as it takes a whole A4 sheet. Good for the visually challenged though.

My local Post Office stated if I wish to post parcels there, buy the stamps there or sod off to another branch as they not interested in online postage.

So 2 mins from work and another branch takes them, very poor service.

Why the hell should a Post Office provide you with a free service?
