If previous tenants have had sky multiroom, would we be able to connect lounge and bedroom tv's and be watching different programs at the same time?
I believe you will need two boxes for that (one for each tv). Second hand sky digi boxes are dirt cheap on e-bay though so it is a bit of a non issue.

Might not have money straight away for a second box but would get one if we decided that we wanted to watch tv channels in the bedroom that are on FTA from Sky but not Freeview.
The Christian radio station which we listen to on Sky is also streamed online which would be ok until we can get a DAB radio for the bedroom.0 -
My husband has said that he thinks the channel Sky broadcast Formula 1 on is only available if you have sky with Sky Sports? Is this true?
I've looked at the channel lists for Freeview and Freesat from Sky. If new house has sky dish will our existing card give us all the channels or are there some Freesat ones that aren't on free to air?
What's the cheapest way to get premier league matches without Sky with the sports pack?0 -
You get Sky Sports F1 with either the Sports or the HD pack.
I don't take the sports pack but do have the HD pack so I get Sky Sports F1 HD. Whetther thats worth an extra £10.25/ month is your decision, or watch on the Beeb /Radio 5 Live.
Dunno, cable or Topup TV I suppose or go down the pubThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The situation has not really changed since your last thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4019365
There is no alternative to Sky or VM if your OH wants to watch WWE.
All FTA channels on satellite are available on a Sky box without a viewing card. A working white viewing card (either FreesatFromSky or cancelled subscription card) will add an extra 8 encrypted FTV channels that are available on FreesatFromSky but not from freesat.0 -
penrhyn: Thanks for that, it's the answer I was expecting. Just to clarify, if we get a Freesat from Sky HD box, we get the F1 channel without having to get a paid for package?
Dave: Thanks for that, good to know that our current white card will give us all the channels available on Freesat from Sky.
I've checked which channels are available on Freeview and there's a few which I didn't realise were available. Food Network, Really and Daystar. Also Premier which is a Christian radio station is available so if house doesn't have a sky dish, they'll be enough to keep hubby reasonably happy for a few weeks. My birthday is 18th November so I'll drop hints for a DAB radio of some sort. We also have Love Film subscription (package that allows 2 discs at home and unlimited streaming).
If we don't get Sky subscription can hubby still order pay to view matches? If we can, I might let him watch one pay match a month.
If there was a way to watch National Geographic and History channels legally without having to have Sky or BT Vision, that'd be me happy. Still thinking about getting BT Vision £12.50 month package but it's not really fair for me to get the documentaries I like and hubby to not have his WWE.
Next one to figure out is cheapest way to get premier league matches without forking out the fortune for Sky, hubby follows Liverpool and I follow Norwich.0 -
No Sky Sports F1 channel requires a minimum subscription of the Entertainment plus HD packs at I believe £31.75 per month at present this will give you the HD channel which is cheaper than going for Entertainment plus Sky Sports (all 6 channels) at £41.50 present.penrhyn: Thanks for that, it's the answer I was expecting. All you will get free is the BBC few live races and the later shown highlights.0 -

No did you read my post? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Have read all the replies, £31.25 month for the HD pack is not much more than BT Vision's unlimited with Sky Sports 1 &2.
One thing is definite and that is for the first few weeks at least, we'll be making do with whatever is already in the house whether it be FTA from Sky if there's a dish from previous occupants or if no dish, whatever we can get of the freeview channels and online once the broadband is up and running.0
