Has anyone had any experience of being a mystery shopper? Is it any good?

Its alright, the work is usually very sparse as so many people do it, but you get to keep what you buy so if you like shopping it can be fun.
I've done newsagents (magazines), pizza stores (MMmmmm, pizza), garden centres (plants etc), and even opticians (free eye test).
Lots and LOTS of pubs and restaurants come up regularly so if you're a party animal you could be well sorted (I'm not, unfortunately).
The only bit of advice I would give you if you're going to give it a go is be as wordie as possible in your critique, ALL sites like you to be as specific as possible and like paragraphs to back up your point of view. Dont worry I'm not talking a novella... more like say three or four lines as apposed to one short sentence (which is sometimes surprisingly difficult if you're not a born rambler :D)
Retail eyes and NOP (Cybershoppers [1]) are the only Mystery shopping sites I've had work from so I only really have experiance of them.

    Good Luck!

[1] be sure to use IE to complete the sign up proceedure as firefox gives 'page not found' errors
