  • Thanks Bargain babe
Give me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.
  • Hi

I have been a mystery shopper for a year now. I have done work for Gapbuster, but am not doing so much now. They don't pay very well and I was sick of McD's. I also do work for a couple of other companies. I bought my list off ebay, but I notice there are people on there asking £32 - a rip off I reckon.

I don't suppose I can tell you who I bought my package off, but it's excellent and you can join a yahoo user group and the list is regularly updated - this costs nothing BTW. I haven't been an MSE very long, so I don't know if you can message me and I can give you details? If I am allowed, then I will.

I'm a member of The Service Practice.
They send you to pubs, restaurants, bowling alleys, shops etc.
They tell you exactly what to do, say and buy. They pay by cheque in advance (anything from £10 to £40 so far in my case).
Some assignments are great fun, eg. asking Dixons for your money back on an extended warranty without the receipt but armed with a letter to produce if they refuse (which they did!).
The reprt form is quite long winded and they expect it back asap or they chase you.
I have a blank application form which I'll scan in the next day or two.
I'll be happy to email it to deserving causes who won't queer my patch.
Pls send me a PM saying which area you live & work. ;)

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

I used to work for Research International.

They used to do Boots (lost the contract last year) and a cross channel company.

Boots was paid about £15 each plus mileage, cross channel £50 plus mileage.

I really enjoyed it, but just havent the time at the moment to do anymore.

They have a website so check it out!! :)

I just pop in now and then.... :)

  • Hi! I have worked for a number of mystery shopping companies over the last few yrs! Had a great laugh and earnt a bit of money too! :) Been sent to loads of cool places and got paid including France, Isle of Man, Jersey, Gurnesey and Gibraltar!

Its all changed recently with the advent of online allocation (U used to be able to sweet talk the allocators into giving your loads of assignments - but thats all changed now!)

NOP is a good one to join at

    https://www.cybershopper.nop.co.uk

Plus Maritz/QCS is another good one - I do market research for them too for PRS - which means I get paid to listen to music!

TNS is ok too - although the rates do vary - some they dont pay at all - but u get a free meal which is cool!

Gapbuster is also ok - but the money aint great - but worth doing if ya fancy a Maccy D's anyway - most other ones go very quickly - although sometimes you get a petrol one - you have to put a tenner in, but they give u 8 quid back - but dont accept any that are too far away as they dont pay mileage - and don't forget the time spent too!

Hope ya strike lucky - dont pay for guides thogh - join the msteryshopperuk site - it seems really good!!!
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
  • I've done Grassroots as well and really like the way they do it, i.e. the instructions are clear and simple and the money gets paid quickly after returning the assignment. They even keep phoning me when other people have not been able to complete the assignment, so I've made more money than anticipated just by getting more assignments.Great!

On it you will find a list of good mystery shopping companies that give you work!!!! along with a short review and rating! Believe me there are hundreds that you never hear from again - you just sit on a database somewhere in cyberspace!! ::)
Btw, nop are only currently recruiting under 25's, so thats me out! ;)
anyway take a look, what have you got to lose! :D
ps. as you will see there are also paid surveys, product testing, paid opinions, reward sites, and lots more! :D
