Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit upgrade

Are we talking OEM Built key? or an OEM OS Box? Because both my Windows Vista and Windows & OEM versions come with 2 DVD's, 32bit and 64 bit and only 1 CD key for each box.

both OEM types the key is normally specific to one version, I bought an OEM windows 7 box for a self build and you have to choose which version you want as it only comes with one DVD in the type you bought.
you can't buy an OEM box with both versions see here only the retail version come with 2 discs for both versions.

I'd like to thank TakeThis for posting the link to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit as I have downloaded it and installed it on my 64 bit enabled computer, which had Windows 7 32 bit Home on it.

And despite what I read about on here it even activated online, even Microsoft's genuine activation tool says it is genuine.

And thanks to the OP who started all this.

You are only licensed to install the edition of Windows (Home, Professional, Ultimate etc) stated on the Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) found on the case of the computer. (i.e. If the CoA is for Windows 7 Professional Edition, you are licensed for a single installation of either the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professional Edition only)

Whilst they do offer 32bit OEM versions, i can tell you now, My 64 bit purchase was an OEM version i still have the invoice and i most certainly would not pay the price of a retail version when you consider the only limitation of the OEM version is a change in motherboard and even then it will still activate on a completely new and different model of board via the automated line which clearly shows M$ do not have a system in place to even enforce the OEM licence.

Still only 1 CD key though.

Perhaps the dabs gave me a retail box by mistake but it is certainly only one CD key per box, that can be used on either DVD.

yeah, they may have also changed what's included since you bought yours and I bought mine, mine came in a box like this, with only one disc containing the 64bit version.

cheeky using both versions with one product key though as it's against the license terms
