I would like to get my fifth and final article written sometime soon so I can go up to 4*, this is ridiculous now.

    What's ridiculous about it?

I log on about three/four times a day and every time there are only 4* or 5* articles. When I started in August there were always at least 3 or 4 3*/2* articles available.

I wrote my last article on the 21st of August. (None of them have been rated by TB yet either).

Having you tried contacting them about your unrated articles? I put my last one in on December 21st, and they were rated last Friday.

I have noticed how few 3* articles there are, and how quickly they disappear. There were two earlier this afternoon, but they were gone, literally, within a couple of minutes. I guess you just have to be lucky.

I don't feel like there's much point pushing for the ratings atm, after all until I get that final article my star rating isn't going any where!

I think you have to do five articles before any are rated, that's why you are still waiting. 3* articles do come up, but they are snapped up really quickly. It's just a case of constantly checking. Good luck.

That's purely a function of what the clients are asking for, not TB's fault. If no-one is asking for 2 or 3 stars, and they all want 4 or 5....

You do realise that, even once you've done 5 articles, that may not get you a 4 star rating?

I failed the proofreading test the first time, but passed it this weekend. I found it easier to print it out and go through each question several times before answering. I crossed out the obviously wrong answers (spelling mistakes), then worked through the possible right answers very carefully.

I did find it difficult but managed to get 90% in the end.

Good shout, will try that when I'm next eligible to take the test. Annoyingly, as soon as I joined I took the test on a whim and got 80% - fail. I then after 3mths took it again and got about 40% because I think I over thought it!

It would be better to recieve feedback on the wrong answers, but I suppose I can see why they don't.

In other TB news, I just scored 5 or 6 500 word articles a week regular work from a client :D hello 3c per word set price. That'll cover my eBay habit nicely ;)

You do realise you'll have to have the articles (or the majority at least) rated at 4* to get the rating, don't you?

I hope you proof read carefully and ensured your punctuation use was top notch!

TB don't like capitalisation (annoying when you haven't got enough word count left to use italics, which they prefer for emphasis), nor do they like the use of brackets.

Other stuff I've had feedback on is very basic commas here and there or spelling/caps lock errors missed. That said, they've been few and far between, otherwise I would be sitting at a 3* level myself.

I don't recall the last time I wrote a general order article though - I make all of my money from team orders and direct orders. Get a couple of those and you're away!

Fantastic, I do quite a few direct orders and rarely do open orders these days, I always have a look, and I picked up a few today... I am waiting to hear back from a client regarding more work on direct order price. I think things are beginning to pick up now, new season approaching et al.

I have one more month before I can complete the proof read test again. I have done one, scored 70% and I think I will print it off too.

How long did it take before you start to get Direct Orders or Team Orders?
How many 4*s do you need before you can take the 5* proof reading test?

Sorry about all the questions but I've never been able to find anything on the TB site that explains all these (ever so important!) details.
