Got my first DirectOrders today :j

Obviously, I'm chuffed about that, but I was surprised as I wasn't sure that it could happen when you're in the 'first five' appraisal stage. Looks like it's only the OpenOrders you can't access during this little hiatus.

One of my first five pieces was described as a try-out to find someone to work with longer term, so I had been a bit worried that the client might not be able to send me DirectOrders until the account was unlocked. So now we know, folks :beer:

Well, wierd or what? I submitted my DirectOrder yesterday, client accepted it today. And my account is now unlocked, even though the 5 article review is still pending. I have OpenOrders available... I think we've got us a loophole :rotfl:

Well done Mac, I'm pleased it's working out for you.

Did you fill out the extended profile? I've not done all of mine, maybe I should. Still waiting for mine to be unblocked but hopefully will be sorted soon.

I've only done 53% of my profile (or so it tells me...) and not sure I'd want to say much more publicly, my CV is a little ... unconventional, so I'll hold off for now. The DirectOrder came from one of the first five clients, so I don't know if the profile had much to do with it. They might have looked at it, if the 'viewed by clients' line means the profile has been viewed. I ought to check the FAQ, I suppose.

You're not missing much right now, I just had a look - 13 jobs, 12 of which are 5*, and one that doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

I got 2 on the Spanish banking crisis and Spanish banking bailout. I am now clued up on Spanish financial affairs!

Also, Macs I stuck up a censored version of my CV. Just job titles, descriptions, dates and education results. Nothing that could show who I am. I think that's fairly common practice on this

Hi all,

Just started using this.

Submitted my sample last night and it was approved this morning. I have been rated 4*.

I've submitted my first job and passed the proofreading task.

Unfortunately, I did not save the sample I submitted. I would quite like to upload this as one of my 3 saved samples. Does anyone know how you can gain access to this, and whether it is ok to use it for this purpose?

My 5 articles have just been released and I've gone up to 4 stars which is good news. There are no orders available now but hopefully some more will come up later in the week.

I did email them using the Contact button at the top a couple of days ago, so looks like this might help move things along.

I got four 4 stars and one 3 star (had a spelling mistake and was advised to add another comma, so can see why on this one). Overall pleased to be on 4 stars and looking forward to some more orders so I can squander the huge wages on bits and pieces on ebay!

Keep at them Catriona. I'm finding there is often a selection of jobs in the morning so I'll sign up for one first thing and come back to it in the evening.

I've made a shade over £30 since starting (and learned some amazing trivia - I'm your woman if you need to know about learning Turkish, caravan holidays and bizarrely, draught excluders!). I hope you get going soon.
