Goodbye Mortgage - the beginning of the end!

Last night's rice pudding was delicious, sorely tempted to make it again tonight but will save the recipe for when we deserve a treat.
Meeting a couple of friends for coffee today, will try to keep it at £5 or under.
The hens are still laying well - last portion of frittata for lunch today, might make another tomorrow though. Works out very cheap with home laid eggs!
Ordered a little something for OH for valentine's day, I think it's a bit of a hallmark day but I still feel like I should get something. Hoping to trade in our CC and Nectar points for cinema tickets and dinner next weekend, so should be a cheap weekend. Need to work on ad points this week for an extra bump up.
Toying with the idea of joining some more bingo websites for cashback. There are quite a few good deals at the moment with cashback of double (or more) the deposit you need to make, I'm just concerned it wouldn't track or would be declined and I'd end up losing the deposit, especially when minimum withdrawals mean you'd have to win loads or wager loads to withdraw anything you deposit.
Making wicked chicken burger tonight. Had been a favourite of OH's since we first made it and is reasonably healthy!0 -
£11.09 is our current daily interest!
Ours is £19.56, so I'm actually jealous of yours! Hope that makes you feel better!

OOOO I love rice pudding. Been sticking to my healthy eating plan, so no puddings for me, but happy to live vicariously through you!M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
I guess it could be worse than both of ours BlueMoo, thank you
Grocery budget is going better than previous months but I still need to reign myself in a little bit more!
Still waiting for last weeks ad points to be added to my nectar account, apparently there's been a delay. Hoping theyll be through soon as was planning to use them next weekend.
Have a really busy couple of days ahead at work so trying to get as much dont around the house as possible. Tackled the mountain of ironing yesterday, and going to get the bulk of the cleaning done today.
Meal plans are done for the next week but I'll need a few more fresh ingredients.
Have been chasing BG for the refund from our closed acount for around a month now, have sent an email and a complaint and still no word. Have been putting off calling as it's chargeable from my mobile but might have to at this rate - really not impressed with them at all!0 -
Go on their facebook page and write your complaint out, you should get a reply then! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

JUST got an email through to say they've sent it. Well timed as was about to complain again. Thanks for the tip lilmissup0

£co cashback paid, so £892.80 now owed to savings.
Due to the amount of compensation we got from them a while back, enough to pay foor quite a lot of our usage, I'm going to add BG's credit into our savings rather than back into the bills account.
Managed to dash around ad points last night, there weren't all that many there though. Hoping all my owed points get added on before the weekend now!
I made salads last night for our lunches today. Wednesday I'm going to make more frittata I think as we have lots of eggs and I'll only need a couple of ingredients to add in.
Hectic day at work today though. At least it's a shorter month til payday0 -
£103.50 left of the grocery budget for February, so chuffed as by now I'd normally be into double figures. Quite glad it's a short month but I think doing the grocery challenage has really made a difference. Was going to go to Sains today but couldnt justify the fuel for such few things, so went to the closer shops instead and got everything I needed using much less fuel.
Booked a table for dinner at the weekend, just need ot trade in our CC vouchers to pay for it. Still waiting on the last 2 weeks nectar poitns which is a pain, but apparently they're on their way.
Had a long lie this mornign so a bit behind on my to do list, but slowly getting there! Weather is a bit miserable, poor hens aren't impressed!
Still need to:
Hang the washing on the airer to dry
Make frittata
Marinate chicken/quorn for tonight's fajitas
Tidy/Clean kitchen and put the dishes away
Walk the dog (he's not impressed with the weather either)

Used our vouchers for dinner yesterday, so a 3 course meal with a drink each cost us a grand total of £12
Also popped into Morrisons for a few things and Sains, had a double nectar points voucher for signing up to easyjet thing but the attendant refused to accept it as they said it was for double points on easyjet, not in Sains (erm?!). OH was getting that embarrassed that I just left it, begrudgingly, and just to rub it in I got another till spit for double points. So I've got in touch with nectar to have a whinge so hopefully they'll give me the points.
Finally got my ad points through for the last 2 weeks as well.
Have 2 portions of frittata left to eat, hope it keeps long enough for me to have some today and some tomorrow as I made it a couple of days ago now. Fingers crossed!
Making thai green curry paste from scratch tonight. Food budget is still going the best it ever has, might end the month in budget for the first time I can remember!!0 -
NSD today - just need another 34873895732 of them I think.
Current mortgage balance: £94,804.21
Creeping back up with the daily interest, boo hiss!
Got lots of stuff done around the house today, caught up on loads of housework which I won't get a chance to between work during the week.
Just about to try and re-budget and check our figures as some things have bound to have changed. Also need to make sure I'm allowing the right amount each month for the car stuff.0 -
NSD so far but I really need fuel and not sure whether to go get it this afternoon and see if I can pick up anything nice reduced things in shop or wait until tomorrow. I still need to pay in cheque from BG so will have to go to the bank also.
Had an extra shift at work but we've bought quite a few things for the house this week or two and have taken the money out of savings so it's gone back down again. Is so annoying but we will pay it back in.
Am re-budgeting at the moment - half way through. Surprisingly I worked out I was allowing too much for the cars but I'm not keen to decrease it incase we have any big unforeseen repairs? Have been allowing £375 a month for tax, ins, MOT, tyres, maintenance etc. It feels like a lot of money.
Have enough points from surveys and Sh&Sc for £20 amzn vouchers now. Not sure whether to use them for nice things or wait til we need something practical. Eyeing up some lovely kitchen pans/cookware which I'd like to save for - 2 things on my wish list I could buy with vouchers now.0
