:) I have days like that. Usually accompanied by cutting or scalding myself, walking into furniture and all sorts.

Sometimes, the least-worst option is crawling under the duvet and waiting until the phase of the moon changes or summat and it's safe to come out again.

I'm about to tiptoe into a chazza with a donation bag. Won't be able to get out without a purchase. Based on past form.

Cover me, peeps; Ah'm goin' in.

:D Thanks for that, BB, I find myself unaccountably short of a couple packets so will check it out tomorrow.

Got a pillar candle for 50p and a new-to-me mug for 20p, woop-woop, the last of the big spenders rides again.

Also went to the Magic Greengrocer and have a head of something called "chinese leaves". Is this a sort-of cabbage or a sort-of lettuce?

I'm not sure if to make it into a salad or chuck it into the steamer and call it veg. Advice would be very welcome.

Am falling-on-my-face tired, tho I did drop in on SuperGran on my way across the 'hood for the latest installation of the Shoebox Towers Soap Opera. This is a constantly evolving meta-drama, with a cast of dozens and various supporting and walk-on roles inc the polis, CID, prolly FBI, MI5, 6 and the FARC for all I know. Plus various scallywags both resident and visiting.

And some burger has been after the lead on SG's kirk; which part of CCTV and SmartWater (TM) have they not understood?!

Hokay, think I need to restore myself with the alchemical combination of dried leaves and boiling water and get my brain into the game.

If chinese leaves are the same thing as pak choi then they are similar to cabbage and I usually stir fry them.

Chinese leaves, you can eat them raw in a salad or cooked/steamed like cabbage, delish either way.

:D Thank you both. I'm heating thru something leftoverish in the bain marie and for the last few mins I'll park the steamer section of the pan on top and cook a few leaves.

Cannot abide overcooked greens but with a hot meal not really wanting salad. Have never knowingly bought this item before but at that kind of price and being a bit of a dearth of greens around in my price bracket, I wasn't going to miss out.

I shall have a few days experimentation ahead. Whaddaya reckon to chinese leaves and ruby chard together? Would be pretty, wonder what it would taste like? Plus I'm eyeing up the newly-regenerated nettles on the lottie. Lotsa iron in them at this time of year, seems a shame to let it go to waste. Must get mycopy of Richard Mabey's Food for Free off the shelf and look for a recipe.

:j It has been raining on and off all day here, proper April showers. I am made up as the lottie is a dust bowl and my seeds need it so badly. May the rain fall soft upon your fields, as the traditional blessing has it.

Blimey! That's a bit out of order, innit? We've had showers about every 20 mins throughout the day but it has cleared out to blue skies and sun, now.

You need to move dahn sarf, lass, we've passed legislation; no hail permitted after valentine's day and only before then by prior booking, the right chitties signed and all that jazz.
