    :) Evening all.

Hi Margaret, I just noticed that Goo Ootdoors have currently got stoves like the above on offer at £9.99 (Hi Gear brand) and you can get the gas at 4 pack for £6.99 or 2 x 4 packs for a tenner. HTH.

Been working hard (that'll have to stop) and doing something with leftovers. Which I already started cooking before reading my secondary email account and I'm invited for supper at 6.30.

Never mind Six Dinner Sid, it's Two Suppers GQ.........:rotfl:I now need to go try that game..........

Its a start, but Fort William would not be my venue; they need to be in Ullapool, Dornoch, Tongue and Loch Inver IMO.

B&M are flogging them, (Outdoor Essentials Brand - probably all the same maker, just badged) for £8-99.

They also sell 4 packs of gas for £3-99.

If anyone lives near Rochdale, someone is flogging a brand new stove and 4 gas cartridges on Ebay.

Current bid (with less than 2 days to go) £3-20.

Mrs. LW: the new job totally sucked. Four of us left the first week. Turns out the prison service basically lied to us about what the jobs would be, "clinic/infirmary work with a guard with you at all times". No mention of being responsible for the medical needs of 140 prisoners all belonging to you. The rotas were designed by the devil. They have more new graduates than it safe to have in one location. So, after talking with my references, who all said get out, I got out. I don't mind prisoners (I've worked with that population before) but there was always a sense of safety in the building. I'm not there to train new graduate nurses. The general concensus among the experienced nurses was, the prison guards didn't want us, we were expected to train new graduates, work our backsides off and take the worst shift cycles ever seen to nursing. They have only managed to hire 50% of the staff they need, so you will be expected to work fulltime even if hired part time. Nurses weren't being permitted to park in the secure staff parking lot, nor were we permitted to use the changing rooms. I didn the pro/con (no pun intended) thing and there was only one good reason to stay there and that was the shorter drive. The list of bad things there was longer than my old jobs. So returned to old ward (union gives us 12 weeks to make up our minds). I stayed longer than some nurses, they walked out after 30 minutes when they saw the shift pattern and saw they were responsible for 140 inmates.

Pressure cookers scare the life out of me. Growing up there was always reports of them exploding and people being scalded.

Having said that, I've know people to can their own salmon after a really good fishing trip. Glass jars of the suff and I'm pretty sure they use the water bath method.
  • Rotten luck WONDERCOLLIE lets hope something suitable for you jobwise comes along really soon, and that your lot improves at work as they know you are serious about finding something else if it doesn't!!! Cheers Lyn x.

Thing is I'm a fairly good nurse. I had a manager ask me to move to a new unit she was starting up. I'm on time, reliable, and know when it's not right for a patient, if you know what I mean.

On the other hand, I've got kidney stones and will have to have a couple of weeks off to get them taken care off. Now, if there is a god, my urologist will book me in for the middle of summer, so I can lounge around the yard enjoying it. With my luck, will probably go in via emerg like last time
