Most scientists are saying the two are not related. However RT and a couple of scientists are saying they could be. If we get any more exploding fireballs, I won't be persuaded it's coincidence!
Apparently DA14 will be spottable through binocs or a telescope between around 8-8.30.

I had two debates about that on the Nasa site today.....they said the Russian one was going North to South so could not be linked to the asteroid which is coming South to North so I pointed out in that case the asteroid could be attracting it to it...like a magnet LOL
Not satisfied with that Nasa talked about a sound some people here when they are close to meteorites .... a sound that is magnified by being near to metal objects or the person hearing having long hair and they suggested very low frequency vibrations....so I pointed out it was just like STATIC!!!!! That gave them something to think about, he was most miffed that a middle aged lady in a mountain village came up with the idea LOL
Talking about static, the air is full of it here today. My hair feels like its prickling and stood on end and my clothes and other things are sparking. I daren't touch my OH as he is the same. There has been an increase in earthquake activity here...there was one just off Corfu yesterday that shook houses and caused some damage to the mountainside. Huge boulders came down and rolled across the road. The good news is that we don't have the storms the sky is clear as a bell tonight. It has been lovely and sunny today and quite warm.
This year has been so strange and I feel there are more strange things to come yet...I had a dream the other night that something was going to happen that would turn all that we had learned in science and physics upside down and we would have to have a total rethink about what we believe is true
Has anyone else got the same intuition about things yet to come...I feel scared and excited at the same time...perhaps its just the static :rotfl:“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. BY the late seventies, at least in my school, we were doing a mixture of baking and savory dishes. I still cannot tolerate cauliflower cheese.:p
I left school in the late sixties, so my repertoire was biscuits, flapjacks and cheese straws. My oldest son went to 'Food Technology' classes and all he ever turned out was a year long series of pizzas, with the exception of the one occasion he made viennese fingers - or at least that's what he claimed they had been. They disintegrated on the way home - and we only lived five minutes walk from the school :rotfl:

GQ mentioned the cruise ship Carnival Triumph.
I go on cruise holidays myself, so I really felt for those people caught up in that unfortunate situation.
A couple of years ago I was on a ship that lost all its power for a 10 hour period. We were in port, at the time so there was less impact, but it was still an interesting experience. It was quite eerie being on a ship which only had emergency power, obviously it was dark, and very quiet when all the background hum of power is taken away.
The worst thing was the toilet situation. The flush on a vacuum system (similar to an airplane) and they just don't work with no power. Fortunately, due to careful intake of liquid and a strong bladder, we managed, but I was very pleased when we got the power back. They had managed to source some chemical toilets which were on the quayside, so if things got desperate, we could have taken a visit down the gangplank!
Since the Costa Concordia incident last year, I now take a waterproof wallet with me, which in the event of emergency will be attached to me. It contains a torch our passports and my credit card. To help us get off the ship and home, in the event of emergency.
Cruise travel is very safe, but these incidents do make you think about how one would cope in an emergencyEarly retired - 18th December 2014
