I've spent most of the night trying to work out who I've upset so badly that they feel snubbed and unable to post any longer and I think I've worked it out, certainly if it is who I think I never intended my words to be as harsh as they obviously were so would you accept an apology? We could both happily exist on the same thread if we just didn't respond to each others posts, I hope I'll be able to do that so NewShadow I'm very sorry to have upset you so deeply if it is you, please do post on the prepping thread again, I will stay here for as long as this one exists but won't post on the new one. If it's NOT you and I'm mistaken I apologise to whoever it is anyway so to whoever has been offended I'm very sorry for offence caused.0

You seem to be getting rather obsessed by this all. Are you ok? you don't seem your normal self? let it go? why wont you post on the new thread.cutting off nose to spike face comes to mind.sorry but as a long time lurker i'm genuinely worried about you....0 -
Thanks love, I'm fine I just really hate the thought of having hurt someone so badly they don't feel able to post, I'd like to put that right if I can and the new thread, nothing against it I'm just comfy here. My prepping is really our way of life so I only join in here for the company and because I like you all. You're a kind lass for being worried, I'm just wanting to fix it if I can xxx.0

It's only a forum after all - not "Real Life".
In your position - I'd delete the signature (as it does sound "unfriendly" and like it's aimed at someone and goodness knows how many thread members are wondering if its aimed at them - could be 10, 20, 50, half the thread). You say you "like us all" - so...
I guess apologies are complete at that point when that's changed to a nicer one and if you want to post post....0 -

Now - who's next....? (there really should be a big wooden spoon smilie on here..)

Mrs L I really wish you would post, you have so much to offer. And I'm sure you would feel right at home, you'd recognise at a glance the same mixture of advice mixed in with chat and occasional nonsense.
People's needs don't change, though they may become more acute if circumstances change. They need to be healthy safe and warm and have the wherewithal to put food on the table.
But they also need support when things look worrying. And you are so good at offering thatIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
As a newbie poster, is there someone at MSE who can sort the problem out? By either agreeing this thread is too long or that it's fine to have 2 threads? Someone needs to make a decision as most of this thread is taken up with argy bargy at the mo:eek:0

Hi, back in from work and nipped into a chazzer on the way and found - cue drumroll! - a brand new pair of R0han airlight bags! For 50p. Oh-my-gosh, I am so happy I could levitate. They're a size 16, which is my proper size and which I'm dieting my way back down to, so won't be able to fit into them for a while, but very pleased.
Now, if you think about it, clothing can make an uncomfortable situation vile or tolerable. Who amongst us hadn't been soaked to the skin at some point wearing fabric which has got soaked or stayed soaked for hours, making us cold and uncomfortable?
Some fabrics will dry from soaking to barely damp in 10 mins on your body and R0han stuff does this, in my experience, although with a hefty price tag. Garments which are also strong, to resist tearing, are very good as you may only have what you stand up in, sometimes, and be doing all sorts. And they just wash & go.
Of course, this isn't the only brand of high tech clothing, not by a long shot, but it's my fave and I'm dead chuffed by my acquisition.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

no it isn`t, not from the long term frequent posters anyway. I regard this particular thread as a very good resource and covers all sorts of shtf situations, from all sorts of angles. It is an invaluable thread0 -
Mary love, I'll post here, it's home, nothing to do with the new thread and nice for all the new folks to have a bit of settling in time there without all us oldies being underfoot. Takes a certain amount of guts to decide to post about prepping for the first time, I don't want to make them feel we're hovering, let them find their feet and get used to the subject matter, we'll all be along in the fullness of time.0
