GreyQueen saidPlease, lovely people, if you have unexplained fatigue, press for a lot of testing, particularly of thryoid and adrenal function. You may have ME and there may be nothing more to be done than rest and pacing, but you may have something very treatable.
May I second this plea. And may I add keep going back to your doctor and insist on a second opinion. Two years ago I started to suffer from exhaustion, it took me all my time to get out of bed and wash some days; but on other days I was fine. My doctor insisted it was 'just depression' and prescribed tablets which I didn't take because apart from the terrible tiredness I wasn't convinced I was depressed. But I'm of a generation which can be reluctant to argue with doctors so I didn't go back to the surgery even though the symptoms continued.
I was right though, it wasn't depression, it was a symptom of coronary heart disease, as I found out eighteen months later when I had a very severe heart attack.
My cardiologist was absolutely brilliant, but pointed out that I could have been diagnosed and treated much earlier if only I'd gone back to the doctors and insisted on blood tests ( I was never offered one.)
So please keep pestering your doctor if you feel exhaustion or fatigue. It will be worth it in the end,for a correct diagnosis.0 -
I was reading recently that the list of symptoms of heart disease and even heart attacks is very different for men and women, and women may miss out on essential and life-saving treatment because neither they nor their doctors are looking in the right place. Fatigue was specifically mentioned as a symptom
I wish I'd been a stroppier person 25 years ago and insisted on more investigations but that horse has long bolted so I have to let it go.
About to stroll very slooowly and gently up to the lottie to sow a couple of rows of seeds. See ya later. xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

The FBI interviewed one of Hillarie's top aides today regarding the state department emails (some of which were marked secret) she received on her private phone while Sec of State. They will probably be interviewing her soon. If she gets charged over this, then it could be a Sanders vs Trump choice. I'm at a complete loss as how to vote. I have never missed voting since I was 18 yrs old.
p.s. Love Mark Twain quotes.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

I think it's interesting in this years election who these canvasing were told to focus on for the different parties.
I haven't been able to walk through cardiff, or any of the near by bigger towns, without three or four people asking me if I were voting or my political affiliations.
I watched a gentleman in his 50's wait patiently trying to talk with a party rep for 5 minutes while being completely ignored.
evidently, if they don't think your vote can't be won or lost, you have no value. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

In this consitituency we have local govt and police and crime commissioner elections. Campaigning has been every low key, to the point of invisibility. I returned both postal ballots although I am ideologically opposed to the very concept of an elected police and crime commisioner.
(mila, if this seems strange, this is a new role created only a few years ago and this is only the second time people have voted on them. In the UK, having the senior police as political appointees is a very alien and unnatural concept).
The folks, ardent practisers of democracy, have only PCC elections in their constituency and have chosen to boycott the vote as they think PCCs shouldn't even exist and don't want to encourage the idea.
You could have shot a cannon through my office yesterday without hitting anyone as many of the team were staffing the polling stations and others will have been on the count from 10 pm. Lotsa tired people will be crawling into work today.
daz, when I change out my stored water, I sling it in the bath tub and bathe in it. Haven't taken any harm yet.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ What a vile GP
maryb so glad to hear you're healing well :T but sorry about the feeling cold, that's just horrid. It looks as if we have a few lovely warm days in store this weekend so perhaps if you can sit in the sun for a while that may help? That's what I'd try to do, anyway.
Re feeling cold - when I get an infection I get very cold and shivery, and think my temp must be up, but then when I take it it is quite low, about 35 degrees! I've heard of this happening to other people with ME too. It does make it difficult to convince a doctor that you are actually ill!0 -
ivyleaf - when my iron is low my 'normal' temperature is low too. So you need to know what is normal for you and then think about how much it is up or down by. This means taking your temperature regularly for several weeks and keeping a record.0

I've just discovered the wild garlic down by the river and had a load chopped up in scrambled egg. At least I think it was garlic.....:eek:0

GQ we elect our deputy sheriff to run the county sheriffs office, but the head of our police is hired.
I think that is a fairly standard practice across the US.
Pineapple, i hope it was too.:DOverprepare, then go with the flow.
