Don't feel awkward about it craigywv, your posts are very helpful - for instance I'd never have thought of looking in - er - your place of work, for little tubs of milk :D I must go and have a nose round in our local one to see what they've got!

That's unfortunate, as SHTF situations don't always wait for you to get kitted up.

Personally, I'd feel naked, without a folding knife in my pocket.

OH has taken to carrying a little Victorinox penknife. It has a tiny pair of scissors, but not a thing for taking Boy Scouts out of horses' hooves. :D

I've no idea why he suddenly decided he wanted one - he hasn't used a penknife since he was a lad! but he's very pleased with it.

Craigywv I've only seen your posts mentioning your place of work as very helpful. Its not somewhere I get to regularly, I have occasionally detoured there to purchase something you've mentioned as being available. Please continue.
In the above example I have access via wholesalers, but knowing where I'd able to buy small quantities is always useful.

:) I'd like you to continue, too, craigywv. I don't often go shopping in non-charity shops but one of the few places I go to, from time to time, is Poondlandia.

Thing is, with them having a pretty fast turnover on certain items, you can miss something you'd've liked to buy because you weren't in that week, so pls tip us off for preptastic matters.

:( Read this and prepare to get a wee bit furious:

Timescale for this promised manufactured crisis? Just around the time of the EU referendum.

Craigy Thanks for the post ,although I use a lot of horticultural grit I also use copper tape around more vulnerable veg in pots .
Mar Condensed milk ! I'd forgotten about it , I used to pinch it by the spoonful as a child . Now craving it but doubt my adult palate could cope .polly

:( Yuck. Neither I nor my brother would touch those vile things as infants, despite parental encouragement.
