Seems to me it's not grammatically correct now. As it stands, it looks like a question without a question mark.

If we're not allowed the SHTF bit, shouldn't the thread just be called 'Preparedness' ? :)

  • The whisky would be saved for medical emergencies and reviving those who get very cold

Alcohol is just about the worst thing you can give, to someone who is cold.
  • To add to the soup for inner warmth in very small measured amounts Bob not to make 'em squiffy!!!

Ivyleaf - I must admit on my way home late afternoon I called in at a supermarket for a few bits and found the condensed milk in both tins and the tubes mentioned here . I considered for a few minutes but came to the conclusion I am now longer that just after ww2 little girl and don't need a sugar hit as we did in the days of rationing :)
On the other hand Craigey has me tempted .

Yup, I think it was bad form of the powers that be not to say what they were doing, and to say *why* they were doing it. Agree with jk0, just lopping the end off the title makes it wrong :(

As I was typing that, I thought, yep, its like the Panama Papers on a teeny weeny scale - the big noises just do things, and ordinary folk just have to put up with it. I've possibly been watching too many science fiction films since I glued myself to my DVD recorder yesterday afternoon :o:o:o but maybe not ...

Alcohol dilates the blood vessels and draws heat away from the body core to the skin where the heat is lost very quickly. That is why you should not give someone who is very cold any alcohol, you need to preserve their core temperature.

    Lies. Lies. Slanderous Lies!

There is nothing more exciting than access to cheese in a SHTF situation.

    In any form.

    Scientific Fact.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
