OK! I'm not going to respond , life is too short to waste in futile gestures. I will post what I need to and I will not be deterred by slurs and insinuations on my character, if we're into looking back at many, many old posts I'd like to think that most of mine are not going to cause me sleepless nights!0

Is anyone else getting very nervous about Donald Trump?
Yes. The idea of what could happen is comical... but I'm nervous that it is very real.0 -

It's shocking that it's got so far. In my experience protest votes can be very dangerous. Imagine if we have Trump on one side of the Atlantic and Boris on the other. Beggars belief doesn't it?
It must be hard for the sensible Republicans though. If they don't want Trump they will be forced to vote for Hillary. And most Republicans hate Hillary with a passion!Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -
I don't think Republicans actually know what his policies are.0

And Putin in the middle looking on - It's almost a verse from american pie.
Relating to Trump's 'style' of campaigning, this was interesting - http://blog.dilbert.com/post/126589300371/clown-geniusLike many of you, I have been entertained by the unstoppable clown car that is Donald Trump. On the surface, and several layers deep as well, Trump appears to be a narcissistic blow-hard with inadequate credentials to lead a country.
The only problem with my analysis is that there is an eerie consistency to his success so far. Is there a method to it? Is there some sort of system at work under the hood? That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Sorry, occupational hazard. At least until the pre-election period starts here in Wales. I appreciate you aren't complaining, but I'll try to be less 'political' for a bit.
Please don't, I enjoy your posts.
I sometimes worry that I may come over as too political in some posts. Bored, yes, wishing to ignore it, probably, facing up to it and dealing with it - of course. My boredom is largely with the mass media and politicians who seem unable to play an honest game.princesstippytoes wrote: »Is anyone else getting very nervous about Donald Trump?
I'm almost as nervous about him as the Republican Grandees seem to be.princesstippytoes wrote: »

A lot of republicans would never vote democrat, of those who might I suspect they'd rather vote Clinton than Sanders. Equally worrying is the number of Sanders supporters who say they'd never vote Clinton.
With the exception of Roosevelt, who served three terms (there being a war on) I don't think theres ever been three successive terms democrats occupying the White House, so statistically theres's likely to be a republican president this time round - unless there's a major turn round that means Trump.
Which opens up the possibility of the UK being out of the EU and trying to build a favourable trade treaty with an isolationist US president.0 -
Whatever is going on lol I leave you lot for 5 MINUTES and come back and you're all being naughty!!
I think what we have here is a SERIOUS LACK OF :EasterBun and :bdaycake:!0 -
Another one here without pension or chocolate, chocolate shortage could be easily rectified but I'm trying to lose weight.
Lack of pension lees easily rectified as I'm 65 this year, lol.
And no I wasn't !!!!less, I had a pension and savings lost them both in a messy divorce, all I can do is work for as long as possible and learn to live on very little money, still I've had years of practice of being skint.

DD1 went to a politics conference yesterday with some of her A level students because they are doing a module on American Political Systems. The two speakers are both ex congressmen and one is from each party. The consensus of opinion is that Donald Trump is a distraction, and that he is the default because none of the other candidates is deemed suitable and their take was very firmly that Hilary Clinton would be the one in the driving seat come election day.0 -
