Post 3664 and post 3666 on the Garden Fence thread there is the suggestion that people are boycotting the thread because our discussions get a bit heated and views differ.
GQ hope you are OK? and that you don't feel that you need to boycott the preppers? If that is the case, and I so hope it isn't, appologies for having caused you to do so. I hope also that no one else is feeling they can't post here either.0 -
I think that may be a topic on which least said, soonest mended.
Anyone else find it interesting how the french economic minister, and more recently the french PM (who's are currently meeting with the PM) decided 'spontaneously' to make an announcement about removing border controls at the tunnel.

I'm not sure how much of an impact the 'not threat' will have on anyone who stops to think about it. I mean, if you consider air and ferry travel - the boarder force of the country don't (generally) do passport controls on departure. The airline do it. That's because if someone arrives here who doesn't have the right to enter, it's the airline that has to send them back.
Why would this be any different for the tunnel? That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

.
"Heated" - well if that's the way one describes "downright nasty and vicious"......
May I suggest that people take a look back through previous posts by one or two people concerned and see just how often they are "having a go" making nasty comments at individual people......
Apologies awaited - but some of us aren't holding our breath for them...and hence I've noticed some of the nicer people are currently not on here...0 -

Views always differ hereabouts, generally in a fairly polite manner, sometimes a bit more robustly. If the poster(s) who made that suggestion is boycotting the thread, that is their privilege - I do hope no-one else is.
The thread has very busy spells and quieter times, perhaps due to the vagaries of real life, perhaps because the discussions don't always appeal.
I'll admit to being bored with EU referendum - not just here, but everywhere and the thought that there's another 4+ months of spin, lies and distortions to come really doesn't appeal - but its life, its actually important and whichever way it goes there will be consequences that affect us all. None of that is why I'm posting less at the moment, my week is split between writing tender documents, a charity funding proposal, re-organising my workshop and sawing timber. I'm still reading and will post occasionally.0 -

Sorry, occupational hazard. At least until the pre-election period starts here in Wales. I appreciate you aren't complaining, but I'll try to be less 'political' for a bit. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

I'm pretty cynical these days - and hence well aware there are a variety of reasons why people wont apologise for bad behaviour.
As far as I can see - it usually seems to boil down to problems going on in their own lives and hence a "kick the cat syndrome" comes up.
But it is indeed very well worthwhile to read the previous posts of people making nasty comments aimed at individuals for some time back - and one often sees a pattern of them having a go at (quite a few) posters all round and daylight tends to dawn after a while..... That being - "They've had a go at quite a few people personally and made nasty comments - hmmm............".
I've certainly checked back through the rollcall of posters generally that those concerned have "had a go" at over some months/years and when one can see nasty personal comments at a noticeable number of people over some time - then daylight has dawned....0 -
Thank you to all the people who have sent me lovely pms. :A Much appreciated.
Is anyone else getting very nervous about Donald Trump? :eek:Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0
