  • It is odd to describe perfectly ordinary posts from one pov as "inflammatory" when they aren't at all. They are one viewpoint - compared to someone else's one viewpoint.

Not sure where our society would be if only one viewpoint was ever allowed on anything - though I can hazard a guess from looking at more restrictive societies than ours. Afghanistan was the very first society that came to mind...

    Anyways:

The Ignore button is helpful, but if other people respond and you read their posts then sadly you still get the effects of negativity that the original post engendered. I try not to get ruffled and not respond. But it can get a bit much.

Ultimately it's up to the MSE team, they can PPR someone if they think it is appropriate (posting privileges revoked) which is what happened to Ceridwen. And I agree MTSTM is a reincarnation.
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

You may draw as many lines as you like but nothing gets away from the fact that you were ppred from this forum under five different usernames. You were originally ceridwen who posted vicious and nasty comments to many old stylers from high up on your pedestal. You were caught when you sent a nasty pm to another user from your alter ego NowWhat's account and signed it Ceridwen. When you were outed and banned you came back four times and were banned each time. For some reason MSE chose to turn a blind eye to your current user name.

What people need to be aware of when you are pontificating about your savings and your past life is that, according to your posts as NowWhat you had no savings, you were sacked from jobs, not just made redundant and you didn't have kids because you couldn't find mr perfect to Marry. That is what is so disingenuous about you.

The savings you speak of having spent on your new home were not savings. They were the equity from selling a house in an expensive area and moving to a hovel in the back end of Wales. You hate Wales, you want to move back, you dislike your mother and your brother. You believe that you are above getting old. You believe that life gave you a bad hand when in fact you didn't educate yourself to a level were you could do anything other than menial work. The Chip on your shoulder is huge. And only today you describe yourself as a left wing trade unionist. I don't know any left wing people who read the daily mail and dislike most other people so intently. You are just not the sort of person who ever takes responsibility for themselves. You make your own luck in life and it is no one's fault but your own that you had the life you did.

You are banging on here about a cut finger and the injustice of it all. You are raging against the friend that caused the accident and the absence of your guardian angel. Honestly? There are people on here with real problems. Real shtf scenarios. You beggar belief quite frankly.

I expect my account will now be closed because of this post. So be it. I hope someone screen shots this post before you report it and that the genuine and kind people of this board stick you on ignore so you can rant away to your heart's content. I know from pms that quite a few already have. Your lack of thanks on posts just proves it.

So cheerio Ceridwen. I sincerely hope that some day, something in your life makes you happy. Maybe if you were just a bit more honest with yourself and stop pretending to be something that you're not, that would happen sooner.
Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have. :)
  • It's odd to constantly comment on other folks choices in life like having children too, it's one viewpoint - compared to someone else's one viewpoint. As posted previously it's 'how' the point is made that is sometimes hard to swallow. I do give credit though that it's NOT done deliberately by any of us.

My gf (who I did not dump in the end :) ) has a car that she pays £250 a month for, and she is part way through the first of four years. The car is a complete dud, and breaks down every few weeks.

She gave me all the details yesterday, and I am shocked. The car was only £5000 to buy for cash, but she will have paid £12,000 in total, meaning an interest rate of about 50%. GF is self employed, so she says this was the only place she could get a car.

    Any thoughts?

I suppose that really it's a bit of a cheek for us to move to France and Spain and Portugal and Greece to live and then talk about migrants flooding in here... We want the best for ourselves and our children and so do they. But then, we're a small island and France, Spain, Portugal and Greece aren't. It's a very messy problem isn't it.

I hasten to add that she won't actually want to come home; like most ex-pats over there, she believes that her blood will thicken if she tries to live in the cold for any length of time, and that that will kill her. (There may be some truth to this as my uncle got put onto Warfarin within a couple of months of returning here from the warmer bits of France.) But she's always believed that she could and taken her life decisions accordingly. There are more than a million Brits living out there...
My grandfather who did a world cruise after retiring felt much better because of the tropical heat and was positively lively when abroad so I can see where she is coming from.

I hope she's still got a house over here to come back to Thrifty, the current price of housing would be enough to put most people off the idea altogether. If there is no choice but to come back to the UK and those Ex Pats don't have a home there is going to be an awful lot more pressure on local authorities for housing in an already vastly overloaded system, doesn't bear thinking about does it?
But they would also have lots of points when it comes to rehousing people so may be right up the top of the list when it comes to rehousing if there were anything suitable, as they would be homeless.
