very very serious weather for NW uk next week. Off the scale serious. If you know anyone with the slightest potential to be flooded then warn them

I wasn`t ever going to post again about weather but this one is very serious and needs action as almost imminent

Thank you, Kittie. I am not in the NW, but I have always been grateful for your weather updates.

Has anybody heard from 2Tonsils in Greece?

Kittie, thanks for the heads-up, may affect lower-lying areas of our town - I'm always grateful for your litre snippets. :)

Not posted in ages, real life has been far too REAL, and preps have had to be sidelined, but next week, I will be able to crack on.

My son and his GF are visiting her grandparents in the south of France - not in any danger, but they think curfews may be in place. Hopefully, their flights back next week will have missed any backlogs, but will be glad when they're back! I have an acquaintance (old friend of mum's) who lives in Paris, as do many of her family and friends; yet to hear back from her, but hope that they haven't lost anyone!

There's been a train derailment in France, as well - not an attack, simple speeding accident - but it's more misery for the country to deal with - they'll be seeing bogeymen around every corner for a long time. :(

After a stressful several weeks, we need some serious down time here, so I'm popping out to see a good friend who split from her husband recently, and DH is going to snuggle on the sofa with the littlies to watch Strictly and Dr Who - simple pleasures.

ETA Just heard that a friend's BiL was at the gig in Paris where so many died, managed to get out of the building and hid on a rooftop for several hours! Just got home in the last couple of hours - what an incredibly near miss! :(

    A xo

When a guy pulled on a police uniform and shot and killed 84 people on Utoya after having set off a car bomb in Stockholm, Europe didn't move to close its borders, restrict the movements of the Far Right or blond blue eyed Norwegians.
But that's not really comparable is it. If there was a cult of blond blue eyed people engaged in terrorism and seeking to conquer and impose their own laws it would be a different story. Plus it would be human nature I'm afraid to be a little edgy around blond blue eyed people even if other blue eyed people stood up to be counted and said 'not in our name'.

Kittie, sorry online life was so rough on you :( hope you're okay.

2Tonsils is 1Tonsil now, I think - she posted on the Kondo thread the other day.

Good grief! Good for him for being so proactive. And what a relief to his family.

..."and flooding for parts of Scotland from Abigail". Well cheers BBC thanks so much. Scotland's a big place lol - FLOODING -WHERE ABOOT?

 Mar, click on the link formed by those words, and it takes you to an article about Scotland, which has links to 9 areas where flooding may occur.

This is the Scottish article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-34820451

    HTH! Stay safe.

I do believe there once was such a cult, and 60 million people including many of our grandparents and greatgrandparents perished before it was defeated. Dangerous times indeed and we should keep a sense of perspective over current events.
